  • For what it's worth, you're not alone. I think I'm going with the whole, "I must outlive my enemies" ideology for coping, because fuck it. But it's always refreshing to hear from like-minded people, when sometimes I feel so helpless to change anything. Ignorance has run rampant, but at least I know there's friends all over the world

  • will not stand a chance of being undone in my lifetime

I feel that in my bones. There's so much backward progress, that it feels like I'll never see any fruit of what I'm fighting for; just trying to regain some ground at this point. I've given up on my own timeline and am simply fighting for future generations. I may never see it, but I'll be damned if I concede

It still hurts though, seeing how much progress is being lost and feeling helpless to stop the backslide. It's mind-numbing to think about, honestly

  • This actually gave me a much better perspective, cause I couldn't really tell from the original photo. And holy crow, that's kinda wild! I would absolutely be wearing the coolest kids shoes

Does it cause you any issues with gait/balance? Or anything else most people wouldn't think about?

  • I can do it, but only with my left ankle! It's almost like I'm sliding the tendon across the bone? making a really loud "popping" sound, over and over. I've been able to do it for as long as I can remember and it's never hurt. Never met anyone else who could do it!

  • Don't you gotta buy Switch accessories too? Like kinda the same things, if you need them... a dock, extra controllers, memory card, etc? But the deck, you can use existing controllers (from other consoles, or a mouse and keyboard you might have lying around) and buy a 3rd party dock that works just as well.

I have a switch and I loved it for some games, but now that I have a steamdeck, it's the most I've played games in years. Comparing accessories is moot imo, and can be cheaper on a deck... and the deck is just way more versatile overall. The Switch's benefit is proprietary Nintendo games and that doesn't tip the scales enough for me to buy a 2nd gen version. I'll choose the versatility of the deck any day, it got me playing more games again

  • Didn't 2020 pop off with one of the worst Australian bushfires still ongoing, and then one of the worst wildfires in California/Oregon began? And then, you know... that little pandemic thing? How's the bird-flu thing been so far this year? Just wondering
