  • Depends on your insurance. I had 2 C-sections, both qualified by my doctors as "medically necessary," and good insurance, so everything was covered. Note: it was in the 1990s, insurers have become increasingly dickish about that "medically necessary" qualification.

    Also note: It's not the initial cost, it's the maintenance. My now-adults are priceless, but it's been a lot of money!

  • I agree the church is political and should be open about it, and pay taxes like any other political organization. Not just the Catholic Church but all denominations, and across the religions and around the world.

  • Part of growing up is challenging the ideas you got from your parents and learning to treat people with the respect you'd like them to use with you. If she wants to continue being friends she needs to do this part of growing up.

  • Considering the homegrown was probably 70% ratshit, I'm not sure if it was really less dangerous. And of course there was always the risk of an explosion taking out the whole neighborhood. I really don't see any good aspects to meth either way. It's not the import-export problem so much as the meth problem.

  • Since you have so many, and I assume the food is dried-on, consider tearing off the paper labels and running them through the dishwasher. It's what I do with my cat's food cans (along with regular dishes) and it works great. Edit: if you don't have a dishwasher, have a hug from me. And then just chuck'em and start over.
