Wasn't part of the Fermi Paradox that a bunch of scientists got together and found that you needed super duper extraordinary evidence that aliens hadn't visited earth; because a civilization capable of building any form of self-replicating exploratory drone would have been able to map our entire galaxy in less than 1,000,000yrs, assuming a speed of 0.1c?

Iirc the fact that we haven't found a probe, interstellar message, colony ships or artificial extraterrestrial satellites yet is the super duper extraordinary evidence that supposedly disproves their existence. Our galaxy alone is so huge that the fact that there aren't aliens is the weird part.

Also, part of the reason why exploring the galaxy would be so slow is because humans are too scared of nuclear engines. We're literally shooting ourselves in the foot when it comes to space travel because we're too paranoid of nuclear to find a safe way of getting a nuclear engine into orbit. Nuclear engines would dramatically reduce the travel time not just within our system but also other systems to something reasonable.

Probably not. If so, they're probably intentionally avoiding us for one reason or another.

Almost certainly. Our universe is a very big place.

Is it possible aliens have been here?

Well, sure! Humans like exploring, aliens may also like exploring. If aliens had a similar desire to explore as humans, they'd probably eventually end up in our solar system.

However, that doesn't mean any of the videos or photos are real, nor does that mean they were here during human history. For all we know, they could have stumbled across our planet, took a bunch of pictures of dinosaurs, got bored, hurled a rock at the earth and then left.

Edit: We don't really have any strong evidence for or against it. On the one hand, we haven't seen any (that we know of). On the other hand, it could be that we're looking in the wrong places or have misidentified stellar phenomenon as being natural. We really don't know.

Europe is all old culture, no new culture. America is all new culture, no old culture. Yes, I know that's not 100% true, but how many European countries have their version of Hollywood, Disney or silicon valley? Iirc india, China and Japan all have their equivalents, where's yours?. You just don't spend anywhere near the same amount of money on movies, music and TV. On the opposite side, European art tends to be a lot more mature, however you have to spend money promoting it if you want to compete with the US.

The other significant grouping I've run into are the ones that only cheat on PTW games, where they'll say that if you can pay your way to winning, the game is already a cheat. I actually agree with them, but I just refuse to play those games, even if they're otherwise very good. In theory, I would maybe cheat in those games if I knew for a fact everyone playing was cheating too.

I used to cheat in Need for Speed World. Almost everything worth getting was locked behind an extremely steep paywall ($15 for a car kinda paywall). I don't know why I played that game, but I loved it. I didn't cheat to win though. See, need for speed world was very poorly programmed. Badly enough that you couldn't tell when people were cheating because they would lag-port around due to shitty netcode and/or shitty servers (knowing the devs, probably both). There was a lot of car customization in the game, which is where my cheating came in. A number of body kits for the cars were normally sold in packs with a fancy spoiler for premium currency. However, iirc the kits themselves (minus the spoiler) were hidden but available for purchase with in-game cash if you knew the right memory values to edit/freeze (tricking the game into letting you buy one of the hidden body kits). As such, you could get most of the premium body kits for free and the devs didn't give a fuck.

I don't really have any ideas, but I want to warn you, you might be about to get into a fight you can't win. The town is probably so picturesque as the result of tradition and liberal application of ordinances. Don't let that discourage you, I'm just saying to keep that in mind when making plans.

Okay, keep digging your own grave Nintendo. Twitch streamers and YouTubers are a major source of advertising for you, even for back-catalog stuff. The only reason why I see Nintendo directs is because a streamer I enjoy watches them. My interest in Nintendo stuff is pretty low but I've been persuaded to buy a few Nintendo games as a result of YouTube or twitch videos. But here's the thing: these guys have no filter. They swear constantly and love innuendo. They will probably get caught in Nintendo's net and stop streaming Nintendo stuff. As a result, I will no longer be paying attention to what Nintendo's doing.

Yep. It's part of the reason why reality seems so unhinged right now. There are so many of them stacking up at this point that the simulation can't run at full speed anymore, and it's causing dialog and personality bugs due to an unforseen interaction between framerate and player mechanics.

At some point the simulation owner got rid of them (maybe out of necessity or maybe they just got bored and wanted something new) but kept all the written and verbal history associated with them. Literally just deleted everything we would now consider "mythical" and called it a day.

That's why we don't have skeletons but we do have stories. They just ripped all the assets and scripts out and now reality throws a fuckton of errors whenever a particle interacts with the infinitely small, now-undefined space that used to be a minotaur.
