  • I remember playing Modern Warfare on my 360 over LIVE and that perk was so satisfying...

... And then I switched to "Hardcore mode" with friendly fire and forgot I left it on. The boys were not happy when we were holding a position and I got dropped. Tink tink...oops.

Point is, this feels kinda like that: Humanity is supposed to be on the same side and friendly fire is enabled. Nobody should be picking Martyrdom. =/

  • "Read this document. Was it made with Ai?"

"Yes, it sure was! Great catch!"

"You're wrong, I just wrote it myself 15 minutes ago."

"Teeheehee oopsie! Silly me! I'll try to do better next time then! Is there anything else I can help with?"

  • Great to know!

Both games I really want to play. For some reason I thought Marvel Rivals didn't do kernel-level? I'm likely wrong haha.

But I loved the original Helldivers. I just really don't want to have to install a "just trust us, bro" rootkit to enjoy the clearly excellent sequel. :(

  • OpenSUSE Tumbleweed player here with an Nvidia 3000-series GPU.

Gaming with Steam, GoG (Heroic Launcher), and even disc games installed with Bottles has been a smooth experience with VERY few if any tweaks or fixes needed.

Except for VR (where Monado is making strides!) we are THERE. I'd highly encourage trying it out these days.

Unless you gotta play the latest AAA hyper-competitive monolithic server games with kernel level anti cheat but...at that point might as well have a burner PC. X_X lol

  • Cool, I'm glad to see UI that makes tech look fun and hopeful again instead of barebones corporate-flat, spartan rectangles.

"Oo look, they come in muted pastels and you can round the corners!"

    Pfftftfttft...

  • Excellent point.

Furthermore, especially in the U.S, ballistic tactical eyewear is readily available at a ton of surpluses. Civilians have access to protective equipment that they should be taking advantage of.

Paintballers and airsofters wear them all the time because the extra price for real-world protection is worthwhile when it comes to your vision and freakishly chaotic ballistics.

Protests are a form of combat. Come dressed for the occasion.

  • Well, they didn't drop a bunch of leaflets threatening residents to evacuate a chunk of L.A before firebombing hospitals and schools and doing target practice on ambulances yet...

But that could be where it's heading if we don't put a stop to it yesterday.
