  • I appreciate this point of view but I refuse to have my limited time and energy wasted as a form of "payment". Ads degrade the user experience of everything they touch and corporations don't limit their ad use to "continue operations", they push it as far as possible to suck as much money out of the product as they can.

The only "TV" I watch is hockey and it's depressing watching the product get degraded year after year as they continue to shove as much advertising down our throats as possible in order to make more money. Fuck ads.

  • I agree with both your comments, but there's something so satisfying about reading vitriol about a type of person you fucking hate. I kinda liked that he doesn't hide his bias or disdain for these people.

  • Maybe watch the video lol? She acknowledges games are better then they've ever been, she's just pointing out how corporate greed has created a trend of publishers forcing half-baked games out the front door and fixing them later (or not).

  • This is pure fantasy. Cable did not have everything in one place for cheaper. Unless you paid extra you only had the default channels where you had to watch everything at a specific time or pay extra for a PVR to record and even then you didn't have access to entire backlogs of TV shows. If you wanted to watch front to back a show you had to pay $100+ for the box set.

Also ADs ADs ADs ADs ADs ADs.

Yeah streaming is getting worse and worse but if you told me I had to choose between cable and a single streaming service I'd pick the streaming service every time.

  • idk if this is a stupid opinion but I feel like us, the consumers are to blame. If everyone just waited a week and read reviews before buying games then publishers wouldn't be able to get away with this shit.

  • Honestly I respect the Hermione comment. Obviously Hermione was written as white, like duh. She was expressing her support for a black-casted hermione because her race is unimportant. It was just a cheeky way of supporting the casting choice amid the backlash from racist fans.

The Dumbledore being gay thing is... idk. I think it makes sense that he can be gay but JK should have been explicit and not canonized his queerness after the fact for clout.

Obligatory fuck JK for being a TERF.

  • AFAIK no, audiophiles can be very opinionated though. Definitely do your own research cause I'm a noob.

Vinyls are analog, which means they (more or less) directly convert imprint the waveforms of the recording onto the physical vinyl. In theory, this should create the best quality recording, but in practice physics gets in the way and it will not sound exactly the same. Digital on the other hand converts the analog waves into digital ones and zeros and most digital music is heavily compressed meaning it uses maths to approximate the original recording. However, lossless digital formats (FLAC) exist which theoretically lose no information from the original recording.

I'm not sure it's possible to compare digital/analog quality but I would guess that you would get better sound quality from a vinyl than say Spotify, but better quality from a lossless file than vinyl.

In my non-expert experience, by the time you get to lossless/vinyl quality you are far more restricted by your audio equipment than by the format, and only experts would be able to tell a difference in quality.

  • They probably noticed a huge bump in numbers in the episodes where they shit on Elon. There's a weird dynamic where toxic shit partially maintains it's popularity because content that focuses on debunking it gets eaten up. So 'sane' creators have to decide between creating interesting things or repeatedly dunking on some toxic shit that it grows their platform.

  • That subreddit was simultaneously the funniest and creepiest subreddit I've ever visited. It's hilarious how sure they are that they will all be billionaires but I always got the creeps when thinking about how I was reading the comments from a bunch of people just throwing their life savings down the toilet.
