And youtube. Kids sucks so much because they don't really want anyone to use it... Sadly though, they don't have to plan to do these things. They just don't invest in making them kid safe.

Well even if he didn't, it would have taken weeks to go through them all and make recommendations. They were in a rush to do lots of dumb things all at once, so it would be hard to continue caring.

Hm, I did not mean to imply this specific thing was done with precedent. I did mean to draw attention to the people who let this happen by leaving so many loopholes for trump to take advantage of. Leaving loopholes seems to be standard practice. Like tax law, lots of loopholes for the wealthy.

Sadly no. Since the dems took the easy route and used executive orders instead of actual laws passed by congress, trump can just cancel that order. And bam, he is now illegal. Worse, because he tried to go the legal route, they knew exactly where to find him.

I mostly agree. But at the same time, unmedicated humans are not strictly male or female either. Bodies vary a lot. So there are women out there with an advantage over other women because their bodies are more male than the average. So determining who is fair to compete against who by chromosome isn't really fair either. What they need is some better measure of advantages earned by genetics vs hard work. Then there should be categories of competition based on that. The middle categories would have overlap between men and women. That would really allow more people to fairly compete.

Both sides are partially right. This bill is a dog and pony show. Federal law trumps (pun intended) state law. So this law is not really enforcable. And the blue gov can always order his guard to defend the state. Even if the administration federalizes them. Nothing really stops him. So the law doesn't change much. But it does bring the idea into the news. And for the actual nation guardsmen from red states, it will sow doubt as to which laws they are supposed to follow. For the ones in the blue states it will help move some who might reject fighting other US troops into doing so if ordered. So it just moves the needle a little bit if such a thing were to happen. But it won't. The administration knows some guardsman would refuse orders on both sides. And that would set an example for federal troops to do the same. So it would weaken them. And they have more than enough illegals to to deport already. They don't need to trade control for more people to deport. Maybe in 3 years it might be a trade they see as valuable if other factors come into play relating to the next election.

If you read it, he broke the law before Jan 6th. They had asked the administration not to pardon him because of his previous crimes. They did anyway. So in the spirit of efficiency, resources had to spend two weeks trying to find him again.

They said targetted first, but not exclusively. I don't like whats going on. But it is being portrayed as a surprise. No one should be surprised by this. If anything it hasn't been as bad as predicted... yet. Overall, thier goal is actually fear. They hope that will deter others from coming in so they can declare what a good job they did securing the borders. And the idea of scared immigrants makes thier base happy. So it's win win for them.

Yeah, I mean it's a tough spot. Neither party has done much to reform the system for legal immigration. That means we have plenty of illegal immigrants that are meaningful contributors to our society. But technically they are still illegal. So the poloticians of the past left the door open for what trump is doing. Trump is to blame for doing it, but the rest are to blame for leaving things in such a vulnerable state.

And I pointed out what Nato could do. If all the US troops are spread trying to protect US assets elsewhere, there is none left to do the actual invading. And of course that would also open up ways for nato to move things by boat to Canada. Russian would probably use the opportunity to take Alaska actually. China would take Taiwan. The west coast would probably take that opportunity to become it's own country. The northeast as well. It would be the end of the united states.

As always, if your source for anything is "trump said", you really don't have a source. Just gotta ignore everything he says, it just feeds him.

I really wish they would stop focusing on the age. With computers, those 25 year olds can be light years ahead of thier older counterparts. And musk isn't expecting the guy to make any decisions that experience would help with. Musk just wants someone who does what he is told. Age really isn't a factor here.

All his billionaire crones are going to be pissed. Think of all the jobs that will create. How will they be able to abuse the average worker when thier aren't enough of them to go around. It's going to drive up wages. And the investment capital that goes to gaza isn't going to the billionaires tech companies.
Sooner or later, one of them is going to off him.

I dunno, Invasion requires a ground war. If the US attacked thier ships, they can just essentially blockade the US at ports of entry. The US can't invade all points of entry and ensure safe passage. One shoulder mounted missle can take care of that. The US just can't win that exchange. It takes 100x the force to secure than to disrupt. And in general the Uzs doesn't have the troops to protect all it's assets overseas. Nato would cripple us in a week.

Thats a lot of mental gymnastics there. What you are describing is correlation. And it proves nothing, in fact it is often very misleading. It is also great proof that the right doesn't have a monopoly on people who don't care about facts when spouting their opinion. See, if you had read... the air traffic controlled told the helo pilot about the plane. The helo pilot said they saw the plane and requested permission to avoid it on their own, rather than get specific instructions. That was granted. The ATC even called back when they didn't see the helo change course, and got the same basic response. So the FAA had nothing to do with causing this. The helo pilot was the cause. Some assume the helo pilot was looking at a different plane. We will probably never know. But it seems they made a mistake.

Canada is part of Nato. Isn't trump going to leave Nato? So that would mean all of Nato would be on Canada's side. That is one hell of a leg to stand on.

Not sure there is a change to elections that will help. Homo sapiens became the dominant species by a tendency toward small group loyalty. That will be exploitable as long after you and I are dead I figure. Our best hope is a benevolent AI takeover. How sad is that.
