  • They aren't really trying to hide their failings with anything more than words. They don't really care what anyone thinks of their performance. And most believe any mistakes are the cost of progress. Besides, if they could orchestrate a crisis that doesn't obviously come from their own actions, they wouldn't be failing as much.

  • Yeah, mine is lvl 1 which used to be aspergers. He doesn't fit with most of the autistic molds. He is extremely aware of other people's emotions. But the part of his brain that would shape his behaviour based on what he is aware of is just busted most of the time. Kinda like it is overridden by even the slightest idea in his head. Anyway, for the others... all we can hope for is some medical advancement that can help them some day.

  • I dunno. I don't think it is that easy for them. The only frame of reference they have is themselves. They can't comprehend the drastic difference between the typical and atipical minds. And at the same time, they are inundated with various forms of media telling them what they are supposed to value in a personality. Essentially they are indoctrinated against neurodiverse people like us. Those doing the indoctrinating are really really good at it. Most people just don't stand a chance against that.

  • I always tell perspective employers that I don't want to be management. I care too much for the user. And I tell current employers that they don't want me in charge of priorities, because I prioritize tech debt.

  • I dunno about the power part. They control the money. And they work with thier counterparts at other companies to make sure they continue to control the money. I too spoke out about doing the right thing to the PMs. My boss told me to knock it off because the leadership controls my pay, and they listen to the PM.

  • He does know what he is doing. He just doesn't care about anyone else. And he is basing his opinion that what he is doing will work out simply because everything else he has done has "worked out" to get him where he is. In the narrow scope of just him, his thought process is almost rational. But the world is bigger than him, even if he doesn't want to believe it.

  • I do find it interesting that 911 was told the person looked drunk. And had it been tgat, the actions still would have fit. And they still would have shot him. And it still would have been wrong. Mandatory police training. Nationwide.

  • Mine is 11. He goes to school with the neurotypical kids. I suppose it helps in that for the most part he "knows" how he is supposed to act. But he doesn't really apply any forward thinking to his actions. So it hasn't shaped his behaviour much at all. We just hope that in 2 or 3 years, when some maturity hits, maybe he will have some base to work from. But we don't know if he will ever develope that filter on his actions that everyone needs.

  • Well, regional maybe the wrong word. I don't know. But I do know a lot of very small airports often have a few commercial flights per day. Like my buddy live 5 minutes from a very small airport. It runs 1 commercial flight a day to a major airport hub that is a few states away. One near me has like 2 flights a day each to 2 nearby major airports. And I know New York has lots of smaller airports that I thought were referred to as regional airports that fly into the various airports in New York City.

  • I think premeditated in the legal sense means planned. So they would probably have to prove he intentionally went to the protest vs happened to be going that way. And they would probably have to prove he doesn't drive around with that weapon all the time. But I am not a lawyer.

  • No doubt. And plenty of other things. Since the government doesn't actually have the best interests of it's people in mind. Bring on the AI overlords, since AI doesn't have emotional reasons to hurt us for it's own gain, maybe it will be better. Lol
