And reading an article from TechCrunch,

"The social network has a Twitter-like user interface with algorithmic choice, a federated design and community-specific moderation."

"Is Bluesky decentralized? Yes. Bluesky’s team is developing the decentralized AT Protocol, which Bluesky was built atop."

"However, the launch of federation will make it work more similarly to Mastodon in that users can pick and choose which servers to join and move their accounts around at will."

So it definitely is pitching that is it decentralized and federated. Maybe the argument is that it "will be", but at the moment it is not and at the moment it does not look like it will be an actual possibility.

Now people leaving Twitter is great, don't get me wrong, but it's possibly just kicking the can down the road. In a few years we'll likely have articles complaining about missing "Old Bluesky" and how "new Bluesky" has the exact same problems that "Old Twitter" had.

  • First, excellent trailer. It fully sold Moss-Bachrach as Thing, not that I was concerned. I think Kirby also looked great as Sue. We didn't see much Pedro, but I was never concerned about that.

Now that leaves Joe Quinn as Johnny. I really liked him in Stranger Things, but he felt a little awkward in this trailer. I'm sure it'll be fine, but that was my only real concern.

  • I wonder if they'll pull a sneaky on us.

Norman is an obvious villain with obvious betrayal, but he's been mirroring Tony in many ways.

I wonder if Norman will truly be a pal. (Until he takes some super serum type stuff and just self destructs.)

  • It's not even that, it's someone told you to make a cake, so you talk about how you don't make cakes, your against making a cake, but you could make a cake if someone really needs you to.

And if your girlfriend does then make a cake, you just start taking credit.

    Actions are louder than words.

  • Even after facing more than a dozen questions about Snowden, however, Gabbard refused to back down. Instead, Gabbard told the Senate Intelligence Committee that Snowden broke the law and that she would no longer push for his pardon

    Is that not backing down?

  • Yeah, that's about right, but season 1 is monster of the week until it lines up with Winter Soldier and SHIELD falls. So no conflicts there.

The only real conflict would be Inhumans, which is more or less the season 2/3 plot.

I highly doubt we'll see Inhumans since we have Mutants and no one is talking about the Inhumans show that bombed and only aired half a season.

BUT, if we're going to reboot a world and have Mutants, let's just have Mutants. In fact we're already doing that. Look at Kamala Khan, she's an Inhuman, but in the MCU a Mutant.

  • So for Agent Carter I'm not aware of anything they could bring into canon that doesn't already fit. We got (human) Jarvis in Endgame, so he's already canon. But Peggy Carter's life is pretty vague, and possibly different after Cap' went back in time, so we can just call that canon now.

As for Agent's of SHIELD, the later seasons take place in a virtual world, the far future, the far past or an alternative timeline. So you either ignore or multiverse them.

For the earlier seasons, they either track with the MCU or do their own thing that doesn't conflict.

Now, if you're asking, should we bring these characters back? Sure.

Quake is the obvious one. She's an Inhuman so that's a small wrench but post-Secret Wars we can just call her a mutant and be done with it. Or if you want to do Mutants vs Inhumans you can still make that work, we even met Black Bolt in Multiverse of Madness.

There are plenty of SHIELD agents to bring back. The main timeline has sorta fucked itself with Secret Invasion and we only have Nick Fury at the moment. Have him go recruit some old agents. Hell have the Hawkeye family come out of retirement.

  • Yeah, I hadn't seen that quote until now and I can only assume he misspoke, is an idiot and/or is surrounded by idiots.

    Hopefully an apology is forthcoming.

That said, great show so far.

  • Since that is a slightly older article, it also happened under Joe Biden.

It also should have happened under Trump's first term, but he's a whiny bitch so it didn't.

For fun the most common cause of "incapacitated" in these cases is for a colonoscopy.

It's also worth clarifying that the 25th Amendment in these cases isn't automatic. The President essentially drafts a letter and then power is returned to them after.

However in the case of the President being kidnapped, the Cabinet & Vice President could also declare incapacity and the VP would take over.

  • Rover Dangerfield was just "What if Rodney Dangerfield was a dog?" and as I kid I loved it. I had a vague idea of who Rodney was so this was the perfect transition film for a kid. Arguably I watched his career in reverse, but because of this film I watched it.

To see the reviews on this film and that it did so poorly, no respect at all.

  • So much for a secret identity.

Also great to see that we have Wakanda and it's (presumably) not isolated. And Stark technology exists. I had some comic/superhero background going into the MCU, but it's fun to just have things pop up in this new series now that I have the MCU background. You can just say "Wakanda" or "Stark" and while I don't know all the rules, I know roughly what's going on.

  • Wow, that's a hell of a way to start! Venom(?) shows up battling Doctor Strange.

Also everyone in this show is just super friendly and helpful. Nico, Pearl, the jock with a heart of gold who's name I don't remember yet.

Also, when Peter is chasing after the van that eventually almost hits the bus, just after he leaves the school does he jump over a Zach Cherry look alike, you know "Do a flip" guy?

  • Also Ned isn't expected to appear, I expect a light reference to him, but I don't think he'll appear. Maybe a quick "man in the chair" moment, but it will be Peter wishing he had that person, but he won't.

  • Oh they'll be replaced, with "private" workers supplied by Musk, etc.

The private "workers" will be AI or cheaply paid foreign workers.

They will be incapable of doing the job, not because they are incompetent, but because they were the lowest bid and lied.

After 2+ years of doing nothing they'll need to be replaced by more workers. The government can't function without them, so we'll hire twice as many, still paying less than the average American and pocketing the remainder.

After 4+ years, assuming the administration leaves, they'll all be fired by the new administration and Americans will be brought in. They'll have to do 4+ years worth of backlog plus the current job. After these 4 years they be deemed as incompetent and we'll start the whole cycle over again.

  • If it helps this is just the beginning, it's going to get worse.

    Wait...

  • censorship of conservative viewpoints.

Which viewpoint? I'd love an example. Is it really viewpoints or is it just hate filled language?

  • My three+ season prediction is that this series will eventually build up to the Sinister Six, a feat Sony has been unable to achieve in 20+ years.

  • I think Loki season 1 did wrap things up with a cliffhanger and setup for the movies.

I know season 1 ended by announcing season 2, but I think we would have got a very different season 2 of Kang wasn't coming to an end. I think season 2 would have still explored Victor Timely but wouldn't have ended with Loki on the time throne. I think eventually that might have happened, but not in season 2.

  • I'm not surprised. The subtitle for the first season was originally "Freshman Year" and even at that time it was rumored that "Sophomore Year" was already being written.

I wonder if they're stopping at 3 seasons (and dropping the obvious Junior/Senior Year) because that's the full story. I expect we'll have a 3 season buildup between Peter & Norman.
