  • Despite acclaim from both fans and critics, Cox has not only never been nominated for an Emmy, but he hasn’t even received acknowledgment from any other major TV awards, such as the Golden Globes, Critics Choice, or SAG—a laughable oversight that continues to baffle anybody that has seen the show.

I'm also surprised how little Cox has been in. It seems like he had plenty of time between the end of Daredevil season 3 and his return in the MCU.

If he wins an award for his portrayal in an Marvel project, great, but anywhere would be appropriate.

  • Batman is a DC character, not Marvel. So Disney doesn't own them.

Batman had a live action film in 2022, with a sequel in production.

Batman cameoed in an animated TV series earlier this year.

Batman had his own animated TV series on Amazon last year, with a second season planned.

Batman appears in animated films about once a year.

  • Nothing new

It's 99% new and different from the MCU. The 1% are small nods to the MCU.

For example in both Peter is out and finds a broken DVD player, then he brings it home and tells May how excited he is that someone threw away a perfectly functioning (obviously broken) DVD player. All the while missing that his future mentor is on the couch, talking to May.

Or as the series progresses we learn that certain events that occured in the MCU also exist in this world.

Overall however it is a completely new Spider-Man. (Yes, Spider-Man interacts with well know Spider-Man characters, but not following any previously written story.)

  • Oh I completely agree. There is a reason it took me a while and careful observation before I figured it out.

I assume it's part of, or started as, a little password dance. Something like, "abc123DEF".

Or maybe it just comes from the idea that only a single key can be pressed at a time?

Either way I completely agree, insane.

  • Also the source is "one user".

but one user asked their Grandfather -- who only get their news from Facebook -- what was going on, and the relative echoed conspiracies about moon creatures attacking with brainwaves.

That's the same level of journalism going on here.

  • I disagree. I think having a base to work from is helpful, both to players and DMs.

For example I don't want to create a pantheon of gods. I might want to create a few unique gods within my setting, and if they conflict I'll change some rules accordingly, but I want something to build off of. Similarly if a player wants to create a paladin or cleric they can just pull from the standard list.

Also if the official lore is fun, it's more fun to build off of. I'll enjoy reading it more and I'll enjoy using it.

  • Really hoping for real API access and third-party apps.

I mean that's the only way it will have any success. I don't expect it to happen, but that's historically how any of these sites have grown and flourished.

It would be funny if Digg was able to successfully reboot and take users away from Reddit, however I don't expect it to actually happen.

Also, stating the obvious, time would be better spent improving Lemmy.

  • I agree, but it's more common than you'd think.

I used to work at an organization that used Chromebooks, which replaces the caps lock key with a search key (same shape, different behaviour). I was surprised at the number of people who struggled with their passwords because they would hit the "search" key, enter a single letter, and then hit "search" again. It took me a little while to figure it out because... Who does that?

  • rule

    Jump
  • It's Joe Biden, he's using her iPad.

  • Compared to last episode, much slower.

Poor Matt really trying to be legitimate and not a vigilante. It's not like Daredevil is around anymore MATT. Someone has to save the city MATT. Put a literal gun to your head MATT.

Also loved the legal argument of "not having my amulet" so I was just a regular dude.

  • I'm willing to discuss UI/UX issues but that top comment is just stupid.

The first complaint is that "lemmy.world" shouldn't exist, because websites should be dot com. That's not a UI/UX issue, that's just ignorance. As we all know Bluesky has also failed to pickup any users due to its URL bsky.app, you obviously can't have a dot app website!

The second argument is worth looking at, but it's unclear based on their comment what went wrong. If you go to Reddit and search for Brazil/Brasil do you just magically find every community you're looking for? I doubt it. Discovery can and should be improved but this person found an instance before a community?

  • Wow. Holy shit. Then the intro played.

The rest of the episode was a great setup to the plot for the season, they wasted no time.

Also I refuse to believe Foggy is dead. I don't care how clear they made it.

  • This is clearly for the reality TV series "Matty on the Street" where a blind chef yells at people to make food with him, featuring Jon Bernthal.

  • It is wholesome. A family in the film even stops to watch the miracle of life.

  • As a quick test, 300 words of "Lorem Ipsum" compresses down to about 900 bytes (using gzip).

So I've got about 300 or so words worth of storage, probably more of I get clever.

Now I can't natively decode gzip, but the header is unique enough that I'll figure out how to decode it pretty quickly.

That's more than enough to explain to myself what's going on, what I've tried and anything else I'd want to know.

If we add other people then that's basically infinite storage.

  • I'm guessing a two part story where Fisk is Mayor by the end of the season, then season two is his downfall.

Although honestly if they want to keep him as Mayor for a while that's fine too.

Of course I'm also curious how Fisk is viewed as someone who could be Mayor given his past. I'm guessing something Blip related.

  • I wonder if we'll get Kate Bishop as a surprise cameo, or maybe that'll be a season two surprise.

  • The first step is buying devices from reputable vendors and trustworthy resellers to minimize the likelihood of malware being pre-loaded from the factory or while in transit.

Given the size I suspect this is also a common attack vector.

    Also,

Android TV devices should have their remote access features disabled if not needed, while taking them offline when not used is also an effective strategy.

Is this a thing? Why would a TV have remote access features?

  • I mean this game is based on/a sequel to Pokemon Legends Arceus which played differently from all other games in the series.

Additionally, based on the trailer, combat will be changing once again.

That being said, I do expect it to be buggy.

So yeah, I'll likely be having fun with this game.
