  • I'd be ok with that too. Although I expect if they go that route they'll do something similar to Ned Leeds where they elevate a minor character and give them a different role.

  • So redhead & Spider-Man says Mary Jane, but this universe went with Zendaya for Mary Jane, so that's out.

The other famous Marvel redhead is Jean Grey, but I just don't see Spider-Man 4 being the introduction of mutants in the MCU.*

That being said if Marvel/Sony have made a to be announced deal that gives Marvel a lot more Spider-Man freedom, it's possible.

The other option would be Gwen Stacy.

I don't think Black Cat, but only because I've seen other better fan casting for that.

*Technically Multiverse of Madness introduced mutants with Charles Xavier, but that was a different universe. Or we have The Marvels mid/post credits, but again multiverse. Or we have the real introduction in Ms Marvel where Kamala's friend says "mutant" and the X-Men theme plays.

  • As you mentioned elsewhere it's encrypted.

Take a look at /etc/crypttab and creating and adding a key file that can unlock the drive.

Essentially your additional SSD will have both a password and a file containing a password that can unlock the drive. When you unlock your root filesystem (I'm guessing at boot) it will then have the key file that can unlock the SSD.

    Something like cryptsetup luksAddKey /dev/pathtossd --new-keyfile /etc/newpassword

Systemd might make this easier to setup nowadays.

Edit: Also, yes, the password to unlock your SSD is just sitting in a file in your root drive. Be sure to restrict it to only be readable by root.

  • I mean this in the nicest way, but your cat would make an excellent replacement for the current governor.

  • Bro fr just making things up.

  • Yes, "you think" based on... What?

My source is the CEO of DC, your source is...?

Gunn was clear why the screen time was limited, they hadn't yet decided how they wanted to use Batman.

Of course that's specifically for their universe.

There is no quote of him saying that the Matt Reeves Batman film can't do X. Or that The Penguin TV show couldn't include Batman. In fact, here's another article about Batman not showing up in The Penguin . No one is taking about Disney/Marvel being the reason.

And in case the thought process is, well maybe they don't want to talk about that stuff, here is an article talking about Spider-Man not being in a live action TV series .

If Disney/Marvel we're involved with Batman, we would know. There would be articles. At the moment, no such article exists. If you want to believe something based on no information, that's fine, just be aware that there is nothing to support that claim.

  • My point is that they don't require permission anymore. Disney does not own Batman in any of his recent work. Batman can pop up anywhere and anytime and Disney does not need to OK anything, they are not involved.

So the argument that the reason we don't see Batman on TV and movies recently is because of Disney is false. Both because Disney is not involved and because yes, yes we have seen him on both big and small screen recently.

There are no existing articles to support the idea that Disney owns/controls current day Batman.

There are rumors that they do, but even those rumors confuse things like the Gotham TV series airing on Fox having anything to do with who owns the rights to Batman. For example as I stated earlier, an animated Batman show ran on Amazon, that doesn't mean Amazon owns the rights to Batman either, just those specific streaming rights.

  • Beautiful and terrifying ending of the episode.

  • I actually assume the opposite. I think one of the reasons former CEO Bob Chapek had such a short tenure is because of the lawsuit.

The lawsuit was a massive blunder for Disney. Yes, all corporations are heartless, blah blah blah. However publicly screwing over one of the biggest movie stars? That's a problem for business. You want the big stars to make deals with Disney, to make deals with Marvel. If you're willing to screw over Scarlett Johansson, you're willing to screw over anyone.

In the short term you save a few million bucks.

In the long term you miss out on billions.

  • I'm also surprised and disagree again.

I'm running a campaign now and jmit takes place in the Underdark. Guess what, they worship Lolth and are pretty evil. I've got some Duergar down there too. I took ideas of the Drow city straight from the Into the Abyss module. I didn't use the exact city, but it was my base of ideas.

Additionally I've taken ideas from the Acquisitions Incorporated book and made the item "Orrery of the Wanderer" a key part of my story. The reason I did that was because I found it to be an interesting item with interesting lore.

Look at it like Legos. If someone handed you a big crate full of Legos you could build something really cool. In fact you could build anything.

However if, instead of a big crate, someone handed me three medieval sets and a ninja set. If I build them exactly as instructed, I still get a cool set. Sure I would have a hard time making a WW2 fighter out of the medieval and ninja sets, but that's ok. And if I tweak the sets a little I still get something that is my own.

  • I know you've said you're not convinced... But then you also called it a rumor that won't die?

For Creature Commandos here is a whole interview where James Gunn says Batman again and again. He has made creative decisions to limit his appearance, but it's 100% Batman.

If course that article isn't even 100% correct best we actually see a dead Batman earlier in the same series as part of a premonition.

Also James Gunn isn't just "some guy" he's the Co-chairman and Co-CEO of DC Studios. This isn't Kevin Feige having to drag out Amy Pascal or Sony Everytime they mention Spider-Man. This is a clear statement.

Disney does not control the rights to Batman. MAYBE they have some residual rights to older content, but nothing recent.

  • Porter's advantage is her ability to communicate. I think she could easily convince moderates and Republicans to swing her way.

Up against someone like Harris it would be a tough battle. Harris has the money and is already well established both state and country-wide.

  • Not sure if the article changed the title but this is the most fluffy interview I've ever read. We don't see an actual Q& A, just the author adding a lot of their own thoughts and a generic response from Johansson.

A quick cameo if the rest of the OG Avengers cameo is still possible.

  • Strong disagree, Agatha All Along is probably my second favorite MCU show just behind WandaVision.

Now that is comparing the complete Agatha All Along to other completed shows. I hope Daredevil Born Again will beat that, because that would make for an amazing show. I expect it won't, just because of how much I enjoyed Agatha.

Agatha for me had a great story, great characters, great mystery and it all fit together perfectly.

  • Despite acclaim from both fans and critics, Cox has not only never been nominated for an Emmy, but he hasn’t even received acknowledgment from any other major TV awards, such as the Golden Globes, Critics Choice, or SAG—a laughable oversight that continues to baffle anybody that has seen the show.

I'm also surprised how little Cox has been in. It seems like he had plenty of time between the end of Daredevil season 3 and his return in the MCU.

If he wins an award for his portrayal in an Marvel project, great, but anywhere would be appropriate.

  • Batman is a DC character, not Marvel. So Disney doesn't own them.

Batman had a live action film in 2022, with a sequel in production.

Batman cameoed in an animated TV series earlier this year.

Batman had his own animated TV series on Amazon last year, with a second season planned.

Batman appears in animated films about once a year.

  • Nothing new

It's 99% new and different from the MCU. The 1% are small nods to the MCU.

For example in both Peter is out and finds a broken DVD player, then he brings it home and tells May how excited he is that someone threw away a perfectly functioning (obviously broken) DVD player. All the while missing that his future mentor is on the couch, talking to May.

Or as the series progresses we learn that certain events that occured in the MCU also exist in this world.

Overall however it is a completely new Spider-Man. (Yes, Spider-Man interacts with well know Spider-Man characters, but not following any previously written story.)

  • Oh I completely agree. There is a reason it took me a while and careful observation before I figured it out.

I assume it's part of, or started as, a little password dance. Something like, "abc123DEF".

Or maybe it just comes from the idea that only a single key can be pressed at a time?

Either way I completely agree, insane.
