Wow. I did not have Daredevil taking bullet for Kingpin on my bingo card.
So much about this episode to love, it's sad the finale is next week. I know they're filming season 2 right now so it'll be "soon", but the wait will suuuuuuck.
Anyway Michael Gandolfini continues to be my favorite new character. He's a believer in Fisk. BB playing him, but Fisk has to know. Oh it's going to be brutal.
Also confirmation of Swordsman. I hope Tony Dalton sticks around for a long time. I just love when a minor character gets elevated to top tier status.
But of course our winner this week is Bullseye. Nearly killed a guy with his tooth, then finished him and another off with a pair of scissors (?). It's the perfect level of "superhero" wackiness. Kingpin created him, so to see him fully unleashed is just beautiful.
To be fair the Switch launched with Zelda Breath of the Wild, which is arguably the best Zelda game and possibly the best game on the Switch.
So even with only a single title, the Switch had a strong launch title.
Now for Switch 2 they're launching with Mario Kart. Now I know Mario Kart is the top selling Switch game, so it sounds like a good launch title, but I'm less confident.
I know Nintendo hasn't made a new Mario Kart game in 10+ years, just updated the existing Mario Kart 8, and I'm sure it'll be fun, but I think Mario Kart is too casual of a game, I think it sells systems eventually, but not so much on launch.
The Wii U had Nintendo Land, which was the 5th top selling game for the console.
The Switch had 1 2 Switch, which was the 40th top selling game for the console. 40th might sound low, but that's about the same as Zelda Echoes of Wisdom, Pikmin 4 or Paper Mario Origami King.
Now this "game" looks to be terrible so far, but that can always throw it as a pack in after a year or two and suddenly the total sales bump right up. No downside.
A EB-5 visa costs ~1 million dollars and has been available since the 1990s. So anyone who wanted one has had plenty of time to get one.
The new "gold card" intends to replace the existing program.
Increasing the cost from 1 to 5 million sounds like it would decrease the number of applicants, not increase them. I suspect part of this change will be loosening the requirements to justify the increased cost.
While legally Sony can use Tom Holland Spider-Man whenever and wherever they want, see Morbius post-credit where Vulture appears and says "I think it has something to do with Spider-Man" or Venom 2 post-credits where Venom jumps into the MCU and sees Spider-Man.
I suspect they won't actually jeopardize the Sony-Marvel/Disney relationship by actually using him, unless the two companies agree to use them (and associated properties) together.
I think Sony COULD introduce a new Kingpin, but they want to leave that position open for a deal with Marvel/Disney.
I think Marvel also could probably put Kingpin in a film, but doing so without Sony slightly jeopardizes future deals with Sony.
I also agree there are probably rumors of a future Sony deal, so this is a misdirect. (Although he might not actually have any insider knowledge.)
The article doesn't specifically name Sony, but since it's probably them, I wonder if it's a situation similar to Wanda & Pietro Maximoff?
Based on my reading elsewhere "New Regency" was the last company to hold the Daredevil rights (distributed by Fox), but those reverted to Marvel in 2015.
So the 2003 Daredevil film could use Wilson Fisk as a Daredevil character, but can't reference Spider-Man. And the 2002 Spider-Man film could have used Wilson Fisk, but can't reference Daredevil.
Just like Wanda & Pietro, they are "Avengers" characters, but we couldn't call them "mutants". Similarly the Fox X-Men could use Pietro as a "mutant", but not as an "Avenger".
If that's true then technically they could probably make a Daredevil film with Fisk as the villain, but they can't talk about Spider-Man. Unless there was something special in the revert to Marvel in 2015 that left live action film right for Daredevil exclusively with Sony.
We've seen Daredevil in live action film, but to be fair that was a Sony Spider-Man film. So it may loop around to not happening, unless Sony says yes. Which, if we assume the newly announced Spider-Man is a planned trilogy, I fully expect Sony to agree to having Daredevil & Spider-Man team up to take on Fisk in Spider-Man 5 or 6.
So Donkey Kong lore can be weird, depending on which Donkey Kong you subscribe to.
The most well known version design of Donkey Kong starts with Donkey Kong Country, where Donkey Kong is the grandson of Cranky Kong. Cranky Kong was the original Donkey Kong that threw barrels at Mario (Jumpman at the time).
That also means we're missing a Kong, Donkey Kong's father, Donkey Kong Jr. The design shown here does closely resemble what a grown up Donkey Kong Jr might look like.
SO, the Donkey Kong show here might not be Donkey Kong, it may be Donkey Kong Jr, better known simply as Donkey Kong. It could also just be a young Donkey Kong or Cranky Kong, since they're related and may look similar.
I'm surprised how quickly the Muse storyline seems to have wrapped up.
Also Vanessa betraying Fisk, but he seems to know about it and not care. I feel like a conversation between them could clear things up without the killing, but maybe that's just how villains say <3.
I'll be honest I assume it's some parliamentary specifics. If it looks like a duck and quacks like a duck, it's a filibuster to me. Allegedly it isn't, but AFAIK, it is. It's what I expect one to look like. It behaves like one. So it is.
Let's start with Vodka. What a fucking waste. Vodka, at it's best, is supposed to be flavourless. So you're already off to a terrible start. If you're asking for a Vodka Martini you're asking for Strong Vermouth.
So let's get that out of the way. You need the standard gin. Gin is delicious. There are many different Gins to choose from. Gin has actual flavor. I like Hendricks, but try and figure out which Gun you like best. Beefeater is great for a gin & tonic, might not work as well in a Martini. Try a few different options.
Now we've got Gin and vermouth. Those two work together beautifully.
Now I like a good olive. I say make that fucker dirty. Extra dirty. OLIVE ME THE FUCK UP! That's what I want. You want it straight up? Fine. I think it's packing but it's the traditional way and I won't complain. You want a cocktail onion? That's called a Gibson and I ain't complaining.
But GIN THAT FUCKER UP. Fuck off with your weak ass Vodka Martini. I don't care if it's Grey Goose or some other "fancy" shit. That ain't no Martini.
Depending on how long he is able to go, he could disrupt Senate business on Tuesday, though his speech technically isn’t a filibuster — the chamber is currently in a limited period of debate time for Matthew Whitaker’s nomination as ambassador to NATO.
I know the headline says PlayStation, but this whole thread is ignoring the Nintendo Switch. For every PS5 sold, two Nintendo Switches were sold. Maybe PlayStation and Xbox are on the decline, but the Switch is nearly the bestselling console of all time (the PS2 is still in the lead and will likely hold that title.)
Also when it comes to MUST HAVE games, Nintendo has so many of those to choose from. Breath of the Wild, Mario Odyssey, Mario Kart, Animal Crossing, Smash Bros, the list goes on.
Nintendo has absolutely dominated the console market and this article seems to just ignore that.
The problem is that Trump doesn't need authority, he doesn't actually do anything. He needs the protections of the title. He allows things to happen and signs documents put in front of him.
Now if no one is enforcing anything then being an "independent contractor" might enough, but as laws currently exist and the precedent currently being set, he needs the actual title of President.
I would agree the cats out of the bag, so there may not be anything that can be done. The keys aren't going to those who can afford a server farm, the door is wide open for anyone with a computer.
The interesting follow up to this is what Disney does to a model trained on their films. Sure lawyers, but how much will they actually be able to do?
Sure, but if you only look at recent history, Super Mario Bros, Sonic 1/2/3 & Detective Pikachu all did great. Sure there are bad ones that came out recently too, but you always assume (even if incorrect) you'll make a good one.
