  • Engineers have always been pervs. As evidence, resistor color codes are remembered by:

Bad Boys Rape Our Young Girls But Violet Gives Willingly

As taught in college. In my situation, our professor disappeared mid semester, as he was arrested for child porn, and was the biggest supplier of child porn in Colorado at the time...

  • This is basic, but there are thousands of lectures, books, and papers on it, going back to the 80's.

Or anything with Donald Hoffman, which there is a ton.

Basically, our brain just handles our cognitive needs, and filters consciousness, which is a fundamental property of the universe. Think what you will, but this is a pretty popular theory in the past decade or so. Among physicists and neurologists alike...

  • My first thought was, "Have you talked to the Fallout modding community?" They're huge masochists and love being shit on, even though they create such amazing things and deserve nothing but praise and monetary rewards...

  • This shit angers me to no end. Where I live, they built this wonderful highway around the greater metro area. Said it'd be a toll road for 25 years until paid off. We're on year 29 now, because they needed to "update" it.

Then, you find out the tolls are managed by a for-profit company in Saudi Arabia...? The express lanes, that cause more traffic and wrecks than a simple exspansion of lanes, is ran buy a for-profit company, in a foreign country. It makes no sense, unless you're a fan of unregulated capitalism, I guess.

  • Humans have a really, really hard time NOT assigning human attributes to every other living thing.

One thing that makes this hypothesis seem possible, is that some researchers are suggesting consciousness is external, and eternal. Meaning all living things are essentially antennae.

Well, the eclipse came and went, and the world didn't end. What did we do wrong?

  • I'd argue merging in to 65 MPH traffic going 35 MPH is a better gauge of low IQ. But, I guess both instances show an absolute lack of any foresight, which is associated with Low IQ...

  • Fist-Bump Met my wife in 8th Grade. Got married at 21. Just celebrated our 28th anniversary. I think if the trust, loyalty and love is there, you'll know. Neither of us had a doubt about each other, and we're best friends.

Note: We did take a year or so off around 18-19, too get 'it' out of our systems.

  • I'd argue that the only fairly accurate source of news, in America atleast, is non-profit, publicly funded. PBS, NPR, etc.

For example, NPR will do a hit piece on Amazon, even though Amazon is an underwriter for NPR.

  • As someone else mentioned, Humble Bundle. The subscription option (Humble Choice) is a great way to get some game options on your Steam account, as well as a decent discount on all games. Not to mention the Humble Bundles themselves.

In the Steam Store, add all your interests to your wishlist. I'm sure you've seen the memes and discussion around the several Steam Sales throughout the year...
