  • It's funny to be when the moral compass types let their misogyny show so clearly. Like you're not going to even try to hide that while trying to claim the moral high ground?

Yes there are bad sexy streamers there are also good sexy streamers, but you can't even imagine that a sexy girl could also be intelligent, funny, and entertaining. Compared to the dudebro react streamers and souless gameplay streams you normally have to wade through they're a much higher class of entertainment, at least they're making their own content and showing some personality.

  • People listen to music without dancing, it's the same thing - it activates pleasurable parts of your brain which trigger various biochemical responces. I normally work with video essays on in the background but when things get complex and stressful I switch to hot people dancing or similar, trying to juggle a dozen variables and get all the code loops right can be mentally taxing so when my brain in churning over my options it can be good to have a nice juicy butt to rest my eyes on, watch sway and pop and grind... It's not going to interrupt my train of thought but it holds it.

Also something that no one seems to consider possible but there are some really interesting and funny women that enjoy showing off their body, the music is often great and the atmosphere fun and light hearted - the notion that because it's sexy it can only be low tier, base and worthless is just puritan nonsense, it's good content.

And no you don't have to jerk off the second you see a sexy butt, I think that way of thinking might be more puritan baggage. You can just feel good about seeing sexy bodies gyrate.

  • Have you now? A lot of research, and nothing promising?

Tell me about the things you've seen research on, like the closest to being promising but not thing that you've read research on...

Should be easy because you're basically an expert in the tech, right?

  • You want to maintain the system that keeps billions in poverty simply so you can try and cling to a privileged position in society. You're as sick as Elon Musk except his selfishness actually benefits him, you're trapping yourself in a worse existence just through selfish greed, then you have the hilarious pretence of doing it for morality.

The world can be depressing and cruel but fuck it's funny sometimes.

  • Ok so when you compare things it doesn't mean that you think they're identical, for example if i compare the similarities between the number one with the number two I'm not saying that 1=2; they are both sigle digit integer values and someone can say that without equating them.

The statement made was that Christian music fans and nazi music fans share a trait, though the trait is expressed differently - that trait being that they are very easy to identify from outward appearances and that it would be hard to know one without knowing about their beliefs. People who listen to Christian music tend to wear crosses and talk about Jesus a lot, Nazis get swastikas tattooed and talk about Hitler.

That doesn't mean they're the same in every regard or morally equivalent, I have a lot of things in common with Hitler and so do you, if someone pointed out the fact we all have respiratory systems that doesn't mean they think we're culpable for genocidal war crimes.

  • Nothing has ever done anything good if you view things like that, what good has an ant or a flower done?

The universe doesn't mind us modifying this rock to our needs, it doesn't even really mind our pollution either really it's only us that have that romantic desire for certain types of beauty - the universe churns up and burns down anything it feels like on its ballet, the moments of novelty and beauty are magnificent and destructive.

We are a part of nature, just as volcano and tree take over and change the landscape so do ant and human. It is all beautiful and all filled with wonder.

It took great upheavals and vast destruction to ready the world for us, endless apocalypse such as the replacing of the atmosphere with oxygen or invasive species colonising every last inch of soil and sea. It would be a tragedy if we were extinct, one we must fight to avoid just as trees fought to survive and ants. That is what this world is and what all worlds are.

  • Also though there are already products being made in carbon negative processes including sequestered jet fuel and various building materials. The cost (economic and ecological) of power generation has fallen dramatically and continues to do so while design tools continue to improve, this enables better and more ecologically' sustainable infrastructure which will help increase the rate of transition to ecologically' sustainable living.

We absolutely will be pulling significant amounts of carbon out of the atmosphere in twenty or thirty years from now, both from bio processing (algae to plastic for example) and direct capture.

It's hard to guess what the world will look like in a hundred years but any model that assumes things will stop changing is just being silly.

  • Though thanks to technological and social advancements life in those countries is getting better at an impressive rate, of course people in affluent countries are fighting this progress every step of the way but it's still happening.

Natural language information systems and sensor driven automation for example enable things like lowering the cost of basic healthcare to almost zero while vastly improving it's scope and quality - sadly many people, for example many I see here on lemmy, are fighting these developments in various ways; trying to purposely poison datasets used to develop the vital tools that will enable this, boycotting places that use these technologies, and trying to agitate for heavy handed legislation to cripple their development such as intense and absurd new forms of copyright law.

I won't write the million word essay I want to about the ways these technologies could totally change the game and enable a huge efficiency boost that allows us not only to halt climate destruction but to reverse it - it's all pretty obvious though, robots building and maintaining ecologically' friendly structures will enable things currently impossible, especially with automated design tools facilitating implementation of rapidly developing technologies.

But it's hip to be negative and for reasons I simply can't grasp a huge amount of very vocal people are fighting to preserve the current awful state of things - they want human potential to be wasted working in shitty manual jobs and corporate wage slavery for the rest of human history. They want building designs to remain limited by human ability and availability of skills, they want a system where poor people can't afford to live decent healthy lives due to the inescapable math of it requiring more human labour to live well than any one person can produce therefore for some to live well a caste system must exist whereby those above get a larger share of the production potential thus leaving the lower classes without the means to have a fair return on their work.

But the people who really suffer are the children working in coffee plantations and chocolate manufacture, in cobalt mines and wheat fields, in sweatshops and prison factories... No one cares about them, people love to pretend to care of course but they'll fight against things that could improve their lives simply because they fear change or because they're greedy about the most absurd shit - they try to make it impossible to train natural language models because 'it's stealing my IP by training on the nonsence I post to the internet' and a dozen other silly statements that all boil down to 'I don't want things to change for the better because I'm doing ok'

Commuter aided design could help solve the logistical problems that create privation and which cause ecological and climate damage, they could massively reduce the cost of living for everyone and improve our lives in pretty much every way - to get there we need to have natural language tools and Computer Vision tools. like a tech tree in a video game, LLMs like chat GPT and general purpose CV like stable diffusion are vital if we're going to unlock things like digital triage, diagnosis, and treatment (not just of people either but imagine actually being able to repair your TV because the computer looked at it and said 'test this capacitor by using this setting and placing the probes here, a new cap will cost a dollar and I can order it from a company that meets your code of conduct')

What I'm saying is there's massive hope for the future but people fight it and deny it because they love misery,

  • Oh God now my YouTube is going to be full of weird zoomers talking over Minecraft about oddly Puritanical nonsence and misogynistic bullshit covered in a thin veil of pseudo-woke word salad.

It's even worse when it's the anti-wokes doing it, pretend to care about the moral cohesion of society just so they can be angry that women are making money.

I think it's great that tech companies are starting to relax on their puritanism, maybe they'll stop being so heavy handed in moderating other content too or at least provide a space for it

  • You literally said they should have no rights, I get that you hadn't thought about what you were saying but I really think it's important to think about the implications of things we say.

I'd link that clip everyone always uses about the law Vs satan but it's overused, surfice to sau dehumanising humans isn't a thing good people do - and yes I know it's popular to at the moment but when I was a kid everyone thought calling things gay as an insult was a great thing and we as a society grew from that so we can grow from this.

  • So you're saying for example a woman gets brought up in an environment where she's raised as a nazi you think that it'd be acceptable for someone to rape and beat her?

I don't really think you do, I'm not going to bother listing other examples but you get the point - what you're saying is not only absurd but it's clearly not what you actually believe.

All people are people, it's that simple and there's no more to it.

  • No? Everyone has known ai will do things like this since way before anyone can remember - it's a staple of golden era science fiction for example, referenced in cartoons like the original Jetsons, and part of every single tired doomists anti technology speel since the Victorian era.

I guess there were and still are people who lack the ability to understand progress and seem to live continually in the delusional belief that we're at the end of history and nothing else will ever change - there's always people who'll take any position that lets them avoid thinking too deeply.

  • I expect your system to know what I mean when I click this button and tell it to delete everything, of course I don't want to delete it I just wrote it! It should save it before deleting it so that I still have it after.

I trust you'll fix this bug in the next version

  • You're suffering a condition caused by capitalist propaganda where even though you recognise it's terrible you can't imagine anything except capitalism.

You throw in some emotive nazi imagery and firebrand anticap talking points but your argument is nothing more than 'capitalism is inevitable and our only option is to fight to be the beast consumer'

Technological developments have continually changed the world for the better, you have access to s standard of living which would blow the mind of a Victorian aristocrat, luxuries they could barely imagine. Access to information is better and far far cheaper than any time in history and by huge margins - go read Jude the obscure and try to find a single thing in that book which would be a problem today -- the boy would be a Latin scholar for a start.

Ai has already benefited humanity in a myriad of ways and it's going to continue getting more useful and making people's lives better - especially those in currently deprived or underdeveloped communities.

  • That's not a very accurate representation of history, the luddites smashed looms that when established lowered the cost of woven and lace products so significantly that even the poorest person could afford to be clothed in garments which only the upper class could afford before.

The luddites wanted to keep genuine and brutal privation in the world because they had what they felt was a privileged position and didn't want to lose it.

Automated food production and service is going to reduce the cost of having a healthy diet and improved the quality of food for everyone which will have many knock on positive effects to the world - being against that because you want to maintain a system where an underpaid underclass toils to try and make ends meet is absurd and kinda disgusting.

As a member of that underclass who can't afford to live more than the basest life I can tell you very clearly that this current system where the affluent mighte classes enjoy luxuries made possible by the suffering and privation of the lower working classes is not a system which anyone should protect.

  • They have a few problems like demoneytising for arbitrary reasons, over zealous moderation on some topics and almost zero on others - I think things are starting to relax a bit but there was a time where history channels would avoid saying the word Hitler or Nazi in their documentary about ww2. Likewise if a film or news story has someone 'commit the unthinkable' and 'unalive themselves' it can make hard topics much more difficult.

There's a lot of engagement spam too, so many channels doing fake restorations, fake pool building, fake animal rescues... Then the ones which just have an ai voice reading fake stories from Reddit, chat gpt gibberish, or awful old jokes copy pasted from old books.

There is amazing content too though of course and I think it's by far the best place to get entertainment and education resources
