  • It's probably coming in for a landing. I assume there's an airport just past the river out of frame.

  • You can get them for $399 here in Canada which converts to 276 euro. Seems reasonable they might be able to find one for 240 in their region.

  • Eh, I never bought this. The show has always been wildly uneven. The first season was very strong with two great episodes but the first episode is not great. The second season is pretty bad overall with the exception of Be Right Back. White Christmas was a good one off. The first Netflix season had some really strong showings with Nosedive, Shut Up And Dance and my personal favorite of the whole series San Junipero. I even thought season 4 was pretty decent overall. Also, banderanatch was actually pretty cool, especially if you really dug into all the paths.

The last 2 seasons, 5 & 6 were pretty bad overall with only one good episode each and some particularly bad ones. But honestly Charlie is probably just running out of ideas and I can't really blame him at this point. I suspect he's just trying different things. Sometimes big swings work and sometimes you just get Mazey Day.

  • Yea, there's over 700 episodes of a show that directly speaks about American culture. You're gonna get some guesses right. Bet there's as many misses as well but we don't call them predictions until they're true.

  • You can already do this today with emulation. Looks fine but depends on the game. Games where textures just complement the polys like Mario 64 work pretty well, plus your brain just adjusts to the look if you're having fun otherwise

  • I go there quite a bit for tech stuff. Here in Canada (I'll assume it's the same for the states) they'll prices match any retailer online or off and you can walk out with your thing that day. They have a 12 month payment plan so big purchases are a lot more manageable.

  • I suspect pretty low given how they aren't going to carry it anymore.

  • Exactly. A lot of people in the thread seem to miss that point. Best Buy is a physical space with limited real estate. They carry things that people want to buy and taking things off their shelves is a clear indicator of something that isn't selling anymore. Streaming is not going away. The quality of streaming is good enough for the vast majority of the public.

  • All the things

  • Yea Digg and Reddit aren't really comparable for a number of reasons. Digg changed their entire website overnight into something that was fundamentally different to what it was. Reddit on the other hand looks and feels pretty much the same as it has for years. Anecdotally, most people I know in my life who use Reddit aren't even aware of anything going on.

Additionally Reddit has something that Digg was never able to achieve, a huge presence over Google search results. Even if Reddit locked down completely today like some kind of read-only site it would still continue to get a ton of traffic for this reason alone.

  • Love how it's so bad it has it's own setting

  • To be fair, when ie6 came out it was a really good browser. The concept of evergreen browsers wasn't broadly a thing back in 2001. Windows XP was a huge success and there was no way to convince the world to move off of it and many companies built their intranets specifically around ie6. I think it was Korea that built all their banking off of Active X.

  • What's worse is we haven't replaced plastic straws with a good alternative. Paper straws fucking blow and I'm not going to carry around and wash a silicon straw with me at all times.

  • For Interstellar Nolan didn't want to give the full details at the start and just told him to create something that would go along with the story of a father and a daughter. Zimmer's like check this shit out and church organs the fuck outta that assignment.

  • That's the way hacks work. They look good on Tik Tok but then when you start to think about it you realize why we're not already doing it that way.

  • Right?! I'm pretty mixed on 4 but I'd argue 3 was every bit as good or better than the first two. The revert was an absolutely critical mechanic and there were some really fun levels like the neighborhood and the factory.

  • HD fuckin blows. It's a cheap remake that screwed up the physics and was mostly lifeless. It was made by the studio that made all the terrible THPS games in the late 2000s through mid 2010s. It's got a handful of levels from the first two games. It looks and feels like a mobile port.

Tony Hawk's 1 + 2 is a love letter to the original 2 games. Loaded with content and they nailed the feel. Your muscle memory of the originals carries over perfectly. It's got all the levels plus a few more. They also added in the revert from THPS3 which is sorely missing when you go back and actually play the originals.
