Yeah and I completely agree with you, but look at the comments in this thread. So many people are coming off as elitists "why should we make things easier for stupid idiots we hate?".

Seems that many users here don't actually want anyone else joining unless they meet their arbitrary standards for intelligence or whatever.

Well sucks for them I guess. Maybe they shouldn't have banned a contributing user for no apparent reason.

Oh well. Couldn't have happened to a worse website.

I don't know if I would say itll "go away" with time. More like it will get diluted over time as more people join with varying stances on things.

I got into psych (TV show) because of an ex and eventually I convinced my father to watch it. Well now he quotes it all the time. The one that comes up almost daily is "I've heard it both ways" after one of us pronounces something wrong or someone else pronounces something wrong.

Goofy fun show. You gotta just enjoy the goofiness and not think too much. Luckily it has tons of themed episodes and endless references to other Pop culture moments. The writing is snappy and honestly you miss a lot of jokes the first time around because half of them are said under someone's breath or by someone slightly off screen and outta focus.

Is that why my multiple accounts with hundreds of thousands of karma were all nuked simultaneously and I was never told why?

I tried to appeal but it was instantly denied and even though I asked what rule they are claiming I broke I still got no answers.

I've already been banned from like 15 different subs and half of them I never even visited. They just had me automatically banned for having lots of downvotes. Those downvoted comments were almost always something of a moderate take, but around these parts a moderate is assumed to be a Nazi. Which is fucking ludicrous.

The userbase on Lemmy is extremely far left and they are very unwelcoming of any opinions that don't align with their own.

I wish you luck on finding your magical reddit clone that has no censorship or mod abuse, but pretty much any website that needs money to run will want to run ads. Ad makers don't like no-no words and other spicy topics.

Lemmy should be the place to be in theory, but they are pretty openly hostile to anyone that isn't firmly on "their side".

I thought reddit had a left wing problem until I got to Lemmy. By comparison Reddit seems like a fairly well balanced spectrum of users lol.

I wasn't gonna say anything but that's another issue with the userbase on Lemmy.

It's occupied by a lot of people who think they are better and smarter than everyone else. Not that reddit didn't also have that problem but the smugness levels are definitely way higher around these parts.

Jk. Thanks for the additional context. Yeah I did a little more research on the stuff and I am less worried now lol. I drink a lot of water every day and I only have things like kiwis on random occasions. Never a consistent thing.

I am really glad this is the top response. I came in here expecting a very different top comment. Something of encouragement and some bs rationalization about why it's ok.

If it's not your stuff and you don't have permission to touch it there are very few reasons why you should ever touch anything that isn't yours.

Unfortunately you put the idea in my mind so now I'll never be able to enjoy a kiwi again lol.

I am petrified of kidney stones. It's why I stopped drinking energy drinks almost entirely. Every time I drink one I am reminded of my doctor telling me that those drinks are dangerous to drink often and part of that is the significant increased chances for kidney stones.

I appreciate you letting me know though. Better to have knowledge and have it changed your habits vs being blissfully unaware all the time. Though being blissfully unaware does seem awful tempting these days...

I tried to like this game but I refunded it after a hour and a half. It just did not interest me whatsoever.

Pretty much everyone I've talked to about the game has neutral to slightly positive things to say, but I don't think this game was popular enough first time around to warrant a remaster already. There are so many better games that should be getting a remaster first.

Obligatory "not me, but a friend" story.

In highschool I used to hang out with some stoners from time to time. As most stoners do they experiment with all the different ways you can get high on pot. One way they came to enjoy quite a bit was filling up the bong with ice and Gatorade. It gave the hits a nice fruity flavor and they hit nice and cool.

Only problem was that stoners are notoriously lazy and of course they forgot to clean out the bong after doing one of the Gatorade and ice sessions.

Anyway we were having a little party/gathering and a girl from our class who was kinda new and trying to fit in with the stoner crowd was there. As the party went on one thing led to another and we were all super drunk and super high (we had smoked joints that day) when somehow the topic of truth or dare came up. Obviously there was the usual nonsense of kiss so and so. Text so and so something. Eventually the new girl loudly blurted out that she would do any dare no matter what it was. Without skipping a beat the host of the party told her to drink the moldy used Gatorade water from the bong that we had used last weekend and it had been sitting outside since.

She grabbed that bong with so much confidence and CHUGGED that moldy weed run off like it was any old beer. She slammed down the bong victoriously and then tried to shout something at all of us, but before she could get a whole syllable out she proceeded to projectile vomit all over everyone. Since she was drunk she tried to cover her mouth as she continued to spray moldy Gatorade and pot juice everywhere, but that only acted like a sprinkler system to further spread out the vomit which was now coming up as more of the alcohol and whatever else she had been eating that day.

That was one of the best/worst parties I had ever been at. She was taken into the bathroom to be showered and changed by one of the other girls at the party and the rest of us had to start cleaning because the parents of the guys house we were at were nice enough to let us party there often and we didn't wanna make them regret it. If I remember correctly she offered to pay to get the carpets steam cleaned, but we had already done that while she was passed out lol.

Yeah but all that work just for me to lose out on nutrients. I'll just watch the thing whole.

I give my kiwis a good rinse and sorta "scrub" their skin (is it called a peel on kiwis?)with my palms before I bite into them skin and all like am apple. I have had more than one person audibly gasp and ask me what the hell I'm doing when they see me eating kiwis that way.

The spoon and digging as a kid was fun, but as an adult the time lost to cutting and spooning kiwi flesh from its skin just isn't worth it. And if a kiwi is properly ripe anyway the bitter skin actually contrasts the sweet fleshy insides quite nicely.

Eh. I've moved 2/3 TB around for work a few times. Yeah it's slow but transfer speeds have only been getting better. I figure in 100 years transferring 1tb will take about as long as it takes us to transfer 1gb these days. If not even better.

It's like... I don't need a magic space man to tell me those things are bad in order for me not to do them. If you DO require a magic space man to keep you from being a disgusting piece of shit maybe you gotta do some soul searching. Or dying.
