  • An LLM could do this, but it would be very expensive to do this for every single communication and not particularly good. Humans are good at communicating through subtext. "You have such a lovely wife, I would just be gutted if something tragic were to happen to her."

ChatGPT picked up the veiled threat there, but that's a very unsubtle example.

  • I mean the US is supporting Israel in that proxy war. Just like we trained freedom fighters in Afghanistan and helped create the Taliban. Just like Russia did to Castro in Cuba.

Welcome to geopolitics. If you don't like someone, you assist their enemies.

  • I donated once to Obama, and once in Wisconsin to watch the cast of The Princess Bride do a table read of the movie. I get a lot of emails ever since soliciting more donations. Honestly they are basically spam, but I never report them as such. I could probably opt out, but I just ignore them and gain even more "unread points" in my mailbox game.

  • she "had never been punched that hard before"

Didn't at least one person say the same thing about Mike Tyson?

Being better than everyone else might mean cheating, but it also might mean they are just better. No way for us plebs on the ground to know. It sounds like the IBC has not fostered enough trust to be taken at their word.

That being the case, it seems reasonable to take Imane's word for it until the matter can be settled by a trustworthy body.

  • Its sort is not a great article. They give raw numbers of things like volunteers and phone calls made, but without comparing them to anything. So you're mainly left with the title/pull quote that these numbers are crazy without an analysis of why.

I have no idea if these numbers are record setting, or how they compare to Obama's numbers after reading the article.

Caveat: I'm just using reader mode and sometimes not all of the article shows up due to paywalls, but it reads like that's the whole thing apart from a video link.

  • Seems like $300k would afford a lot of "professional services" that wouldn't come back to bite a person the way harassing someone does. Not that that's a good look for a former AG to be involved in either, but I could overlook that a lot easier than something that might be seen as exploitation of a professional power dynamic.
