  • There's disinformation all over the internet, I block it and get on with my life.

  • They suggested to me that I block their community but I will not because that is how you get a cesspit of an instance

    Who cares? Just block it and carry on as normal. What other people do doesn't effect your enjoyment of lemmy at all.

    Better yet, curate your own homefeed with subscriptions.

  • It is, but it's the type of thing you pop in every now and then and place a pixel, and look at all the updated art that has occurred in the meantime. Everyone's using the same canvas.

  • it's a live, collaborative art project. On reddit, you'd have hundreds/thousands of people all contributing at once.

    you have a blank page, you click on page to place coloured pixel. Wait 5 mins to place another.

    You're right though - it would be nice to have some discussion based news communities. R/geopolitics used to be very high quality for example

    The other comment responses are just lazy, link aggregators do not need to be devoid of worthwhile discussions

  • I'm 10 years, I haven't left Reddit completely but I've definitely started using it significantly less

  • That's why Mastodon is 'dead' to you. I never liked Twitter or used it much, and Mastodon just doesn't work for me either.

  • I bought my phone for £150 and it's great. I don't understand why people spend £600+ on a phone.

  • adjusts glasses one could argue email is essentially a precursor to what we call federated services now, and it works as well as it always has. Predates IRC :)

  • Change sorting. "NewComments" and "Top x" are better than Hot and Active atm

  • I loved the reddit version of this! Would love to see it get a bit more activity
