  • 0 people who struggle for money would pass up on an extra 100k a year in return for slapping an ad banner on a page

keep in mind this guy doesn't run any affiliate links or donations either. He's sitting on a literal goldmine, this isn't some niche project.

  • No. Lemmy's mod toolkit is pretty poor at the moment.

appears to be an RSS feed reader built for Reddit, rather than just scraping the site. This'll likely last quite a long time, I don't see Reddit killing their rss functionality anytime soon.

  • Clear your app cache & data. Fixed it for me.

  • trying clearing the site data/cache

  • Almost certainly someone who already has a decent amount of money. Looks like he's a full-stack dev, likely works at a good company. Respect not monetising the site.

  • Have you tried clearing cache & data? Worked for me.

  • https://lemmy.world/settings in your settings, have "English" and "Unspecified" selected (on pc, old ctrl as you select them). Nothing else. Boom, no German or Dutch.

  • Not sure what app this is but you can,

    1. Block the individual communities and/or users.
    2. Subscribe to communities you wanna see and then browse via your subscriptions feed
    3. Disable/blur NSFW content in your settings.
  • either browse your home feed & subscribe to subs you wanna see, or block them. There's always going to be communities you're not interested in.

  • I love the idea of Fairphone but it's too pricy for me unfortunately. my current phone (Redmi Note 10 Pro) only cost £150 ($195) and it's pretty much the perfect phone for my minimal needs.

  • I agree. I only replace my phone when it stops working.

Battery life is decent for 3-4+ years nowadays.

  • I've tried alternative search engines but IMO nothing can beat Google.

Qwant is the only one I felt like was of similar quality.

  • Try to get your hands on the mobile app too, it was also resilient when the site went down :)
