The second highest voted thing is mildly misleading because left parties are a lot more fractured, especially in EU elections. The afd could have 11% while 9 left wing partirs have 9.8% and be the most voted party, but that would be a better result than we have now with it being the second most voted.

The results are bad, but 16% is at least nowhere nesr a majority. I'm honestly more concerned about the CDU moving closer to the afd and still ending up with 30%, seems almost like many people don't like the afd because they've been told afd bad, but still agree with much of their ideology.

I think germany could have gone worse, and people are quick to see that the AfD has the second most votes and cry disaster, but reality is that left wing votes are just split between more parties. Overall "cdu and further right" seems to bd about evenly split with "left of cdu".

But still, compared to both the previous EU election and the most recent national election, it got quite a bit worse. CDU and AfD combined were at 36% in the last national election, they're up by about 5% each, and that while the CDU has been getting closer to the AfDs position in recent years.

Too many is still better than too few, and it's not close. Useless comments make parsing a bit harder. Missing comments can mean hours of research.

It works both ways depending on the timescale you apply. You could compare the murder of lukes parents to october 7th. It fits the "bad thing where people die happens, response kills far more" that applies to palestine too. And the public perception, especially of people supporting israel, seems to think the conflict started there.

I saw it that way, but still as a post critical of israel saying "it's easy to see an atrocity and want revenge at all costs, but that doesn't make it right". The "yea" at the end implies to me that what we thought with the fiction was maybe mistaken.

Of course, the death star was a weapon of mass destruction seconds from destroying a planet, so there really isn't much moral ambiguity there, but not mentioning that is likely deliberate in order to make the comparison work.

It should be a net benefit for society. Any system in which it isn't is a very flawed system. Like most of the world right now.

I do this, I hate it, but I can't get rid of it so I've started to accept it.

While what you said isn't wrong, it's not really the main issue. The energy a human body gets from food can be vastly different than what is produced by burning it, and there are further variations per person.

The calorie count on food to my knowledge is based on actual measurements with humans... from one guy doing experiments in the 1800s. And while it's probably reasonably accurate on average, it's not really possible to know how much energy a specific person will get from a food from a generalized calorie label. So even if the food itself had no variance, it would be impossible to label the energy intake you will get from it accurately.

Youtube has forced it onto their creators for a while. Censor swears or risk upsetting the almighty algorithm and getting demonetized, because apparently american companies don't like being associated with swearing.

If it's a public server (which the op would imply) then it's a problem because any idiot could join. Of course for some small server with friends it's fine. Though I have it off on mine anyway because people assume they don't have perms and will just write @everyone anyway

I played it on a pc that was ok at the time and the physics engine glitched out so things that were supposed to be sitting still on top of/next to each other would randomly collide and sometimes fly off. Still had fun with the game though.

It's not, that guy constantly tweets this sort of joke. The shutterstock thing is just part of it.

This is literally just you being used to one system but not the other. 16 to 26 sounds like a massive difference to me because it is. And decimals exist.

It's easy to say everyone should have human rights. But what if one person goes against anothers human rights? What is a just punishment?

And that's before even getting into what rights people should have. You can very easily have everyone be theoretically equal while still effectively disadvantaging some people (and getting rid of that entirely is not even possible, we can just minimize it). There's a lot to debate.

What I don't get is why there would ever be a debate about excluding some people from human rights without them first violating others'. The only argument for that is "if we oppress this group, this other group will have better lives". Which is often true, sure, but that's just being a selfish asshole.

I once failed a test in politics class because after examining both sides I stated this issue does not affect me and I can see merit in both positions, therefore I do not have an opinion on the correct course of action.

Not like the grade mattered in the slightest but that was actual bullshit.

I'd be fine with a minimum support time if an end of life date is not made clear when buying. Say a game has to be able to run for at least one more year after purchasing unless there is an explivit warning about the planned shut down date. That would at least seem reasonable to me.

Of course the optimum would be requiring either offline functionality, or, even better, enabling fans to host their own servers once the official ones shut down. That way games could be preserved for much longer.

But at the very least, people shouldn't lose access after an unreasonably short time.

I work in QA, my colleague is exactly this guy. Breaks everything without even trying. Doesn't even have much of an IT background, but man he's good at breaking things.
