I think there are different levels. I love the office, I've watched it through a few times. But sometimes after a long day I like to toss it on and just relax. It's a comfort show. But having seen it so much, it's easy to fiddle with a game while I watch. It's a way to destress after work for me. It's not that I don't like the show, I'm just experiencing it a different way. As comfort background viewing, apposed to when I watch a show I really enjoy and am seeing for the first time.
What you're asking is for single moms not to work and have enough money to feed kids and pay rent. You're asking people to miss rent payments and be homeless. Some people can't afford to do this, full stop.
My guess would be around your note. If someone mistakenly has two SSNs (due to fraud, error, or name changes), combining DOB helps detect inconsistencies.
Some other possibilities, and I'm just throwing out ideas at this point:
Adding DOB could help with manual lookups and verification.
Using SSN + DOB ensures a standard key format across agencies, making it easier to link records.
Prevents accidental duplication if an SSN is mistyped.
Maybe the databases were optimized for fixed-length fields, and combining SSN + DOB fit within memory constraints.
It was easier to locate records with a “human-readable” key. Where as something like a UUID is harder for humans to read or sift through.
Things have not gotten better, seriously? Weird, I don't see KKK members hanging people from trees anymore...
Why isn't everyone just stopping work? You must have a great life, because a lot of people live pay check to pay check and are just trying to survive. Protesting by not working could make them miss rent and be on the street. Do you seriously not understand that concept?
The country was basically split on the vote and there was only 2 real options. What would you have suggested people did when it came time to vote? Throw their hands up and quit?
This. My wife's brother isn't a bad looking dude. I'd say maybe a solid 6. But he is exclusively attracted to women who are models or could be. A girl could be at a bar that most would find gorgeous, way out of his league, and he would be physically repulsed by her. He would nit pick every aspect of her build, hair, etc. He's currently 35 and alone, living in his dad's basement. Oh and he is a corrections officer, so there's that.
So you are going to act like everyone in America is the exact same. With the same views? Did you miss the election where roughly half of the country didn't want this or are you just lashing out because your stance was questioned.
Guy said he wanted to help people so have been and still are supposed and you took that as discrimination? I guess if we don't help everyone all at once we shouldn't help anyone?
I'm a round about way it does hurt them though, I would assume. Which would make sense on why they don't want it. Just trying to play it out in my head I'd think, ok company X pays more for copper, so they need to charge more. Which means less will probably be purchased, so they in turn order less copper from Mexico due to reduced demand from price sensitivity. So I think it will hurt them eventually.
What snowflake world did you grow up in where a teen pushing someone means they need to have their life ruined. Jesus, what kind of safe space life have you lived lol. Yeah the kid is such a victim, they got pushed, something that never happens to a child ever. Grow up
In my experience being both and employee and employer it's not usually the best move to stay. You were leaving for a reason. If the reason was not money, then all it's done is convince you to put up with it for longer. If it was money, it's just a matter of time till someone offers more, and the company knows that. They will build redundancy and remove you so you don't disrupt business by surprising them with an exit.
If you're not making enough there it's because the company doesn't want to pay you more or can't. If a company is paying you more than they would like, they're not just going to accept that, action will be taken to fill that spot at the desired price point.
Is all this right and moral, of course not. But capitalism never is, especially these days.
