  • Errr. Why am I paying more tax on groceries here then?

I was confused because I never lived in a state that charged tax on groceries till now, but why would this say 4.. what's the rest from

Edit: so it's strange.. Gallon of milk from Kroger 2.99, adds 20 cents sales tax. That's 7%. So an extra 3% from local sales tax.

That means that even if they drop this 4% TN local taxes might still be on groceries. So the lowest according to this chart would be 2% on food, and highest 2.75%.

  • When I think back on the times I ordered things from eBay by walking to the local convenient store, getting a money order for the winning bid amount and sticking it in an envelope to mail it to some random address for someone I'd never met expecting I was going to get an object back for the money, it's crazy that it worked for me every time. My brother would also buy cards online (basketball, baseball) and had a local shelf at a card shop here. He'd buy cards at the store when they were cheaper than they sold online, and those online that he could sell higher in the store. That led him down a hole where he used Bitcoin at one point for trading cards. He's one of those people that had 9 Bitcoin or some shit left with the key on a flash drive or something. At the time that was probably $7 or some shit so he lost track of it. Just had the numbers in his excel document with what was left from the purchases. He probably formatted it for use for some school project or something and never thought twice about it. Crazy to think that could have been sold for near a million dollars now haha

  • To be clear, I believe domestic militias should be able to exist, but militias attacking infrastructure is what I am saying falls under domestic terrorism.

As someone noted elsewhere, that infrastructure is helping to protecting the population from Tornadoes and other severe weather.

  • Thanks for the heads up about yt-dlp. Maybe if I start running into videos like that I can set up a way to execute the yt-dlp to download them in MP4 format on my jellyfin server using Tailscale or such to link the command. Then play from there.

Seems like a lot to watch a video, but I'll leave it on the back burner idea pile if ever needed. A lot of the text based stuff if it gives me to much issue I'll drop the link into archive.ph

  • I asked a question the other day and was curious if someone here may know another suggestion. Cloudflare "are you human" checkbox. Was hoping to find a way around that when going to articles and such. Someone suggested Silk Privacy Pass, but that was only for Desktop, I couldn't get it installed on Firefox or Cromite on Android. Has anyone heard of a way to keep a token or such that I may only have to click that human thing one time per VPN session or such?

  • Never been diagnosed with anything but yeah meetings will put me to sleep if we are having to be quiet and what they are addressing isn't new information that directly effects me. (Especially if I didn't sleep well the night before which is often).

If you spend 30 minutes talking about another department expect I stopped listening and mentally checked out 28 minutes ago.
