  • I was lucky that we just had friends that loved making them. So we wouldn't have books or such, and we just made our player cards on paper with knowledge of what can grow and when. Then the world's would grow crazy if we wanted them to, or not. Hell we had one game we played specifically when we were drunk. We would close the bar down, pick up a 12 pack a piece and cigarettes. Then we would sit out on the porch from 2am and play till sunrise every weekend, sometimes both Friday and Saturday night. In that game we'd note our cards on our phones so we'd remember and the DM would have us send them to him at the beginning and end of the night so he could reference/ make sure they weren't all fucked up before the next play session. It gave us crazy things to talk about at the bar; what we wish we did differently, what we would want do aim to do, where we might want to go, and that just all fed content to the DM and they would draw up ways to integrate possibilities for the next week or so. Even had a couple side characters so if someone else happened to be in town or wanted to join us we could auto scale the character by doing a quick percentage off of some of main characters current stats. 1 or 2 people spend 5 mins to bring the person up to speed with what their character story is and where/what is going on or maybe overall goals while another one of us just writes down their updated stats for them and sends it to them.

So we'd spend nothing on the game itself. We had a blast

  • Okay so maybe I've grown to used to the smell of garlic but is it a common problem that people are worried about their hands smelling like garlic/onions? Maybe it's because I wash dishes as I cook, so whatever I chopped/prepared them on I would have washed in the sink while it started to heat up in the pan, but I guess I need to sniff my fingers more after doing so.

  • I'll have to look into this, thanks for the suggestion. Been installing games with Lutris, then if they don't work I try all the proton versions there, then try non-steam games and still run into some that I just give up on. Having a mounted ISO on games that ask for a disk on startup I haven't figure out a way to get Lutris/Steam to recognize yet. Hopefully this will help.

I have found that games like The Sims, and Stardew Valley are the most consistent at working easily. Which is good, spouse enjoys those

  • I was interested in that whole ecoli eating plastic and producing 95% acetaminophen from it by mass. Maybe we can stop a lot of the plastic from water/soda bottles and just medicate ourselves till our livers shit themselves out our assholes.

  • What do you have against eating orphans? It statistically should drive down homelessness and potentially rent prices. Probably not good for the economy or moral though. Your parents died in a traffic accident, sorry kid... You're off to the buffet.

  • So your plan is to give up, or try to change the Democrat party to move further left? A new party couldn't place a member on the Presidential ballot by 2028. They have to hold positions in multiple states of lower positions to do so, and that would split the possible centrists from the leftists and guarantee another Republican win.

Hating on individual Democrat members who drive the party Congress/Senate to the right makes sense. Hating on the entire party just helps lose support for their party and thereby support the "true" villains as you labeled them.

  • Could have done what when Biden was president? A bill like this was impossible to pass under Biden even if you could get the Democrats who notoriously don't line up together to get on the same page. It has to pass both sides of the legislature, and they didn't have a majority in both sides like Republicans do now.

  • Released for $4.60. below average game cost they said. This makes me wonder... What do games cost on release most places?

I seem to remember $40 PS2/Dreamcast era $50 PS3/360 era, $60 PS4/5/Xbox S/S era. And now people are saying $80 for next gen. Sorry I know I dropped a lot of consoles, but was that pretty standard everywhere?

  • According to the article it says it requires only 51 votes to override. So "real" or not if the Republicans actually fall in line like always it once again doesn't matter what the Democrats in the Senate do. There are more than 51 (53) Republican senators, also Vance would vote for it. So they can have 3 people not vote for it and it would override it apparently. I thought the parliamentary would require 3/5 to override, but maybe that only pertained to some of the clauses they took out to ensure it did not require 60+ votes

  • Exactly, then you outlaw homelessness and deplete protection programs. This will ensure we can fill privately owned and operated prisons and use their labor to work the low paying jobs at a vastly lower pay.

Note from the article below. They claim "some of the most violent prisons" yet some of them are allowed to work 40 hours and some go home for the weekend to stay unsupervised. That doesn't sound like a very dangerous person... In fact why are they holding them at all. Commute their sentence to probation at that point and let them get paid the actual wage. It would decrease our prison costs, while increasing taxes paid to the government and economic gains. We need to rework the prison systems to rehabilitation with much earlier releases if they are deemed safe to be working around the non incarcerated population. After all they are only supposed to be locked up because they are "a threat" to to the non incarcerated population.

And yes, that chart says the highest minimum wage is .35 cents and hour for incarcerated people. 5% of the federal minimum wage that is unlivable.. meaning they can't make anywhere near the money they need to save up for a roof and transportation to a job if they can find one when they get out. Throw in that many prisons charge inmates for being there... They have debt when they get out they need to pay off, so their credit will likely be shot.

  • No, right now if your parents aren't citizens, and you are born here, you become a citizen. Say you come on a student visa, get pregnant your junior year and drop out of college to take care of your baby and try to figure out a life, the baby is a U.S. citizen. Very clearly as you can see that mother and child are a huge risk to national security. A person going to work and paying taxes while raising a kid and helping with the birthrate decline they supposedly care about is something we just can't have.

  • Hard to say where he really sits without knowing more about him, but voice wise it seems he was calling for people to protest Israel's actions while not performing them specifically at Jewish events. Which I get. Bringing the protests to specifically Jewish events in the U.S. isn't protesting Israel, it draws the idea that if you are Jewish you are Israel, which is false. His comments that Palestinians should be able to live without fear I haven't seen anyone mentioning and the fact that they are quoting him from 2021 saying Israel should be more surgical, 2 years before things escalated from the Oct 7th attack and prior to any ground invasion.

A U.S. Senator speaking about Israel overreach in 2021 is actually surprising.

  • So your saying you would support if they updated it to, everyone who is here as of Jan 1st, 2026 (or whenever it passed) is legally a citizen whether or not they were in the naturalization process, and only their decendents can get birthright citizenships. (And all future citizens who get naturalized by sponsorship)

I could be fine with that IF every workplace is mandated to sponsor every person they hire on a work visa. If they are caught hiding that they hired a worker the company is dissolved and the owners/executives get life in prison. All student Visa's allowed a fast tract acceptance to a work visa while attending school or a period of forebearance while it processes if applied for within 90 days of leaving the educational institution.

Asylum applications need to be updated to NOT require the person to be on U.S. soil and made accessible online. If a person applies for asylum and any personal information down to just giving a name is leaked by any member of our government or institutions set to minotor/run those applications, the penalty is life in prison.

  • Depends on the fictional mythology. For instance the show Tuee Blood says it only applies to homes owned by a human, not businesses and such. That show has so many plot holes... But that idea they almost stick to. So I would say if the entire country was owned by 1 person and they lived there and had no businesses in it, sure.

  • I agree that there really is no way for the layman to know. The states all vary as well. Meaning something like 10 states have partisan votes (party listed next to name in ballot). About 20 have non partisan, so they don't list the party. Many have Yes/No retaining votes without listing a replacement, just decision to keep. Then some states have policies where the judge must be confirmed by the state Senate, and others approved by their state Congress. Beyond that, I don't remember much, it is way to much for a person to keep up with and their should be independent bodies that evaluate performance/ judgements. I don't know a perfect way to set it up though, as corruption is everywhere.
