  • They guy is just saying thank you for your service. I think what you did was worth it. It only sounds like a dig at Trump because it's near impossible to say anything nice to anyone without it somehow being against him.

  • Is there an easy way to depict which version of Proton you should use for games based on age or even a site that maybe knows which games work best with which versions? I've found experimental to work on some, while not working at all the other day when I tried CounterStrike 2. Proton 9 worked fine with that though. I've seen some suggestions on installing with a different version than when running a game, but I never know if they just tried going down the list and then just stopping at one that worked.

Edit: Also in something like Lutris, if it works using the standard wine configuration, I usually don't alter it to proton, should I be for better performance?

  • Isn't that the whole purpose? Jury deliberates. They all agreed on 4. Couldn't agree on 1. If you require the jury to be there day after day and you essentially hold them prisoner to do so because it is mandatory... How many days do you hold them until it is effecting their deliberation. If I make you miss your job for week, you may just agree to something to get out the door eventually. A hung jury can't occur if the judge just says "keep deliberating" so there must be some cut off

  • I get that it's good to be thorough but if dude was found guilty on 4 charges adding up to a minimum of 50 years, (2 counts 15 years, 2 counts 10 years) and the guy is 55 years old. Can't the judge just say they can't be served concurrently, and call it at some point. That puts him in prison to 105 years old, when the expected life span of an African American male is 72.

  • I once cut a small artery above my left elbow right before I left work (We were young and just fucking around) Cant remember my exact age, probably late 16 early 17. I took my undershirt off and tied it around my arm to try to slow the bleeding while I drove home. The blood goes threw the shirt, and is all over the inside car door, seatbelt and created a puddle on my pants in the creases because they were those Dickies work pants that are water resistant. When I got out of the car I heard the blood splat on the ground so I figured it was to much. Went inside tied yarn tightly above it and wrapped an old shirt again around it to replace that one as I didn't have any superglue. I spent the hours of 330am-630am crawling in circles around the house with 2 bottles of resolve, paper towels and wet rags in a bucket trying to clean blood drops off the carpets and floors from when I walked in. The entire time dropping more blood in a near endless cleanup chain with only one thought on my mind. My mother is going to fucking kill me for getting blood on her carpets. At 630 (they open at 7), dizzy as all get out from lack of sleep and blood loss I got back in my car to drive to the clinic just hoping no one pulled me over or I passed out driving. I got there with a blood soaked rag wrapped around my arm and the lady handed me a 2 page clipboard to fill out and I remember staring at her with an expression that clearly said, can't I fill this out while he stitches my arm? Of course not, so 5 minutes later I hand her a clip board mostly free of blood and paperwork that says I have no insurance.

The clinic doctor was great. Told him I had no insurance and couldn't afford anesthetic and asked if he could just do it without. He cleaned it a bit, poked me with a needle of some kind and put in 7 or so stitches. Then marked it down as a consult or something, so I wasn't charged with any of the items he needed/used. (Like $40 for the visit)

I'll always remember that guy. Moral/point of the story though... If you are less afraid of bleeding to death than you are to ask your parents for help, your parents might be abusive as opposed to strict.

  • There isn't much opposition in Tennessee, but Memphis and Nashville still exist. So you have Tennessee judges that have blocked their bills to ban drag shows, hemp products, ID's for porn, and laws against transporting women in need of health services. They don't always win long term but they don't just let everything go through without a peep. I'm sure there are others I don't remember, but it is always nice to see when they do block something.

  • Well one of them sent an email with a picture in their signature out to all the staff letting them all know to update their signature to the official one. To which another reply-all'd asking how to do such, others thanking them for the signature. 774 reply all laters they got through the does mine look okay, please stop clicking reply all, why do I keep getting more of these, STOP SENDING THESE TO ME reply all messages that were sent out. That made up the first 5GB of emails and most of the first 2 days they were in office.

  • What's a heros dose. I only did small amounts and it was long ago. Much better experience than I expected. Easier to snap out of than anything else. If your high on weed or drink you can't really snap out. But with a low amount of shrooms I definitely could. Then go right back to wondering why all of the Scooby Doo characters are naturally occuring in the cement walkway while sitting on the stoop

  • "Immigration matters are civil matters, meaning that immigrants – whether they are naturalized citizens or not – do not have the right to an attorney in such cases."

How can immigrantion matters be considered a civil matter if you criminalized someone's immigration status?

Example in Tennessee: "The legislation, criminalizing the act of being in Tennessee without legal immigration status, would come with both jail time and an eviction notice from the state. Judges would be required to issue 72-hour warnings to leave Tennessee to anyone charged or convicted of the crime.

The first offense would be a misdemeanor, but would rise to a felony if someone is charged a second or subsequent time."

That means Tennessees courts should immediately shoot that down as unconstitutional because it is a civil matter according to the federal government.

  • No I haven't said anything about my sentiment about Waltz. He has said we can't allow what is/has happened to the people in Gaza to happen, and supported immediate ceasefire though. Which go completely against why you say you dislike him.

..also "lying to us" really? The sentence made no sense. Even Fox pointed out he misspoke and he said Israel instead of Iran. And made fun of him for it. There was more wrong about the sentence than just that.. it's 2 sentences jammed together incorrectly like he looked down and read the next like or something.
