  • That’s great to aspire for but there’s still an almost total lack of content in many genres I enjoy on YouTube. I don’t even think PeerTube has progressed as far as the Lemmy community in terms of content availability. Admittedly this is probably because text and image content is much easier to create, but as a user I don’t find much reason to spend time there yet.

So if you don’t want a monetized model, there is still a need to have another solution to the lack of content, and I haven’t seen one yet.

  • How does adding a particle to the black hole remove energy from it?

  • I mean sort of. I’m not sure gangs are a healthy way for neighborhoods to organize though.

I mean I don’t care if they take action against ICE but there’s a reason they’re not, and it’s because gangs exist to look after their own interests first. They don’t want to start a war with the feds for obvious reasons.

  • Thank you for sharing your experience. I can’t speak for everyone of course, but I do think most people see that what the IDF is doing has nothing to do with Judaism or Jews but that they use these ideas as a mask to hide their true monstrous nature. I have nothing but love and respect for anyone brave enough to speak out on this issue, no matter any superficial connection they may have to these villains.

  • You’re joking but this is more or less the law with minor exceptions. Basically everywhere near an airport is covered so it’s mostly remote areas that are not.

Edit: or maybe I misremembered? I can’t find anything on the airports.

  • I think it’s just intentional but it’s still ridiculous. What percentage of people do not live within 100 miles of a border, coast, or international airport? The number is not large.

  • Honestly this doesn’t seem like a bad idea? Subreddits/communities as mod fiefdoms has almost never worked well imo.

  • Yeah that’s about what I was thinking, thanks. I’m going to ponder it but as I’m relatively privileged it might be worth the risk for me to help my community.

  • I saw that but I’m just curious to hear other thoughts if there are any.

  • Are there any legal risks for signing up to this?

  • I’m not sure, it’s an experiment.

I have one in my backyard that seems to grow OK so maybe?

My climate is very hot in summer so I’m trying to find greens that aren’t bitter in such weather, and this is the best flavor that I’ve found so far.

  • Yes, that's the one.

  • Garden is really starting to get into the midsummer groove. First good harvest of tomatoes yesterday, more sorrel though it’s slowing down with the heat. Had a few small eggplants but hoping the next batch will grow bigger.

I planted Persian basil which seems to grow really well in my climate but all of the basil is growing well, along with my sweet potatoes.

Peppers are sizing up but not ripe yet. Ginger and water spinach still struggling for unknown reasons but I’m wondering if the soil in that area is compacted or something.

Finally, my pepino is growing like crazy and getting very large. But it’s been flowing for a while now and hasn’t made any fruit. If anyone has experience with this plant and has advice, let me know.

  • Damn that sucks. Why are they planting grass? For cattle? Who owns the land?

  • “ongoing bilateral engagement”

Yeah this is gonna turn into another CECOT isn’t it.

  • There’s an excellent podcast on this project if it interests you.
