I mean there's a large sentiment that goes back to antiquity that technology is here to crush the working/creative man. I think people felt it was too on the nose that a tech company worth trillions was making a commercial that reminds them of that so directly. especially in today's day and age where people feel like certain industries are on the cusp of being completely wiped out by LLMs and stuff.

I did this before. I was about to die and then accidentally put an empty letter paper into an envelope and thought the letter I did write to my daughter was my scratch paper... so I threw it away. I later passed but through a stroke of luck my daughter found my letter in the trash and was still able to read it. so I can rest easy now knowing that.

I mean... it was a subset but I wouldn't say small by any means. at least for my broke ass family, we really struggled to send me to the weekend and summer camps you generally need to attend to get all the badges to get eagle in time. it's definitely something not every family can afford.
