  • A web page is more secure than an app, on theory. That’s because you can’t see the source code, tokens or whatever they use to build it. It’s called a ‘backend’. However, an app is insecure by default so there is a lot of tricks that must be done to secure it (for example Oauth 2.0 flow with pkce). And the software they use to gather the data to show (APIs) must be built better.
So… why then? It’s all about having the means to deliver the experience that the bank wants. Look at voyager app for Lemmy, for example. Why people want a iOS version when the PWA exists? Because it simply works better as a native app.

  • If my experience works for you: I also bought a 3000€ PC. It made no difference compared to my wife’s 1500€ PC at all.
According to review sites, the graphic card was so much better but the games looked exactly the same.

  • 100% agree. And I think it’s important to note that even with good intentions they would do that, because that’s how their life is and how they experience things. If I tell you that right now I’m reading a book or whatever you would not think I have a hide agenda. But if I’m famous and I tell you that right now I am filming a movie, everyone will feel that they are promoting that film even if it is not in porpouse.

  • You are right. My iPhone XR is around 4 or 5 years old, and now I need to charge it in the afternoon if I have used it during work to spend some time. I guess that in a year I’ll have to replace it because the battery will last even less.

  • I don’t know you are downvoted because ChatGPT answers are usually a good start for a new conversation and new arguments. Is ChatGPT answer accurate, is it somehow true but with a lot of hallucinations? What about the nuances in its answer they we might have overlooked?
