Well Booker is doing a hell of a lot more than most other reps when it comes to this, no need to shit on the dude.

I remember in high school maybe jr high it being a thing that people just said without much context. I didn't know it was from Blue Streak until ... Maybe now?

Bro I didn't feel like fucking with the free fillable forms (basically an electronic version equivalent to filling out and mailing in paper forms) so I used H&R Block this year. They forced me to pay 60 because I can't file if something somewhat arbitrary "needs done" and having an HSA meant they forced me to input info about it for determining itemizing vs standard. I knew I was taking the standard, could tell them to ignore that HSA shit and still it wouldn't let me file for free.

It was so stupid.

Next year I'll not wait until the last minute and go through the trouble of actually filling out the forms but it's a pain in the ass.

I wish our taxes were like everywhere else on this planet with a reasonable and effective government. Send me a check or a bill. If I think I'm due more or shouldn't owe I'll do my own audit of their math and can say "hey fix this" but 99% of the time it's just right. So much easier and cheaper and simpler.

Like others said, the only possible exception is if you're getting government assistance and get kicked off programs you're in because you went past the cut off. So, as an example, let's say you're low income and you get vouchers for school. You could make enough money that you're no longer eligible for that benefit but the amount you make over the cut off is less than what the benefit was.

But, that's a specific situation. At no time will your taxes increase more than whatever additional income you're getting. Period.

I've tried to explain that too many times now in my life and I'm not even that old. Just a lot of people are bamboozled by propaganda and lies.

Unfortunately for the Americans who didn't vote for Trump we live in a democracy, for now, and enough of my fellow countrymen felt it was a good idea to elect that orange maniac.

But it's not like we all support him or his positions.

A bit of a conspiracy but I kind of believe the reason that guy got so close to shooting Trump is because Trump's security detail probably secretly despise him.

It's hard to come up with a good analogy. It's kind of like someone watching a crocodile bite their leg off and then hobbling back to the same lagoon so they can get bit again. Then, instead of blaming themselves or the crocodile for the situation, they blame black people.

That article is really fuzzing up the definition of "poop," I'd argue over half those entries are just how the thing poops weirdly. I guess if you get into semantics it may be technically true but I just consider pooping to be eliminating bodily waste so to me that whole article is like, "look how oddly these things poop." 😅
