I'm not an expert in this topic at all, but there's a few reasons i can see. One major reason is that you'd have to get a big portion of the country to admit that they were totally wrong and got badly scammed, which people (especially that particular portion of people) won't allow themselves to admit.

From what I've heard on the internet, CPS will only take children away as a LAST option, not as a first one. There are all kinds of interventions that can happen before that, like mandating recurring surprise inspections, parenting classes, etc.

As has been said, just saying "blue state" doesn't tell you enough about where is a good place and where isn't.

Yeah this has Bigger Problems written all over it. While it is useful to have a technical answer to this immediate problem, a method to barricading the door would at best be a delaying tactic. The actual problem will still exist, and there very likely will be retaliation like the mom completely removing the door.

But you just said it yourself, it's all state by state. And I'll add on that it's city by city. There are plenty of US regions where minorities of all types are celebrated. Nothing is ever 100% anywhere, there is always more progress to make, but there are places in the US that are generally capital-g Good.

Exactly. There are people who are open to reasonable discussion about certain topics and are willing to consider other possibilities and potentially change their minds, while other people are obstinate and unwilling to entertain other possibilities and won't have an honest debate on the topic.

Talk to the people who you can have actual discussions with, and don't waste your time on the people who would take herculean effort to even have them hear you.

I have the opposite experience. YouTube is always pushing dumbass recommendations. I only go to YouTube when someone links to a video I'm interested in, say some neat demonstration of a old analog synthesizer, and there'll be a couple of slightly interesting suggestions on synths, I'll click on that and then the recommendations are like "Woah!!! Check out what happens when I stick a synth cable into my butt!!!" And it's not because I ever watch videos like that, in fact that shit is what makes me close the YouTube window and never go back until some other website links me directly to an actually good video again.
