  • [...] in an apparent protest against the Israel-Hamas war [...]

The article is just blurring the act, censoring its force gained by sacrifice, and mis-attributing its target. One can easily say, after having been exposed to hundreds of similarly malicious wording in public accountings of acts usually consisting of protests not in line with the local authority, that this is very deliberate and made to utilize even the last thing a person does to raise awareness about a systemic unjust treatment.

Someone with zero context about the situation could easily understand this act with different intent.

  • For me, this is the opposite situation. I like long texts that detail other aspects in a topic, the writer's intent, references, lists, etc. that make discussion matter more and hit its core aim rather than having a limited space where you can only vent your emotions in a few words or just simply talk about something in a limited, headline-esque urgency.

I think the character limit was increased a bit over the years but the short text culture persisted, even if some people try to use chain comments as a way of posting long discussion texts. The platform simply goads people into that style, which is antithetical to meaningful discussion.

  • Yeah yeah, sure. When it comes to the side they have monetary or material interests with.

Not even going to argue over this when their hypocrisy on response to human suffering has been completely 180° different between Ukraine and Gaza. They have been quick enough to send all aid to Ukraine and sanction Russia as much as they can because that conflict is the floodlands preventing west's personal losses, while they were quick on ceasing any established (albeit blocked) aid to Gaza because their regional lackey Israel has claimed there were a dozen UNRWA aid workers that had dealings with Hamas, which is not even supported with any form of evidence so far.

  • So many memorable childhood games. Much bonding over Jackal and fighting (or trying to start a fight) in Ice Hockey. Nice solo gaming with awesome music on Gun.smoke and Balloon Fight.

I'm glad emulators exist and work out of the box, so I could keep playing these games without any hassle on my computer even if the hardware has become hard to find.

  • Biden to Bibi:

    "Pal,

Get your house in order already. Hard evidence about your army's war crimes and genocide, unlike your bullshit claims we keep supporting and coercing the rest of the world to support, have leaked today, as well.

No big matter, though. May these weapons find you in good genocides.

    Your best fan, Joe."

  • As much as being someone outside the US, who enjoys the waning US hegemony over the 3rd world countries thanks to Trump's fuckery all around, and strongly disliking how Joe has rightfully earned the "Genocide" nick these last months despite all his awesome domestic policies, I'd still urge you without any doubt to vote for Biden this election.

Orange jello may have weakened the iron grip of the US in exploitation of the 3rd world countries, but not without aims to replace them with other entities as sinister as the current ones.

3rd party alternatives you have will not amount to a solidified support for anything you want. Conservatives and right wingers are always extremely consolidated on their voting habits, no matter what they complain about or whom they dislike, never make mistakes about that. They are not borderline fascists without a reason.

Don't make the mistakes that we did in Turkey in last years election. Left, as always, bickered about most things among themselves, rightfully so but in the worst timing, and right just said "We'll vote for whatever secondary right-wing shell parties there are but we'll support Erdoğan no matter what including the horribly foreseen earthquake disaster shortly before the elections.".

Your voting system forces you to this choice, sadly. Antics, rebellious voting, forcing ideals without having proper steps in place will not help you achieve what you want, unless by force, which the civil systems of administration are there to put bloodless alternative.

You are free to spend your vote one whatever makes more sense for you, but consider what people closer to your views have been urging for your sense to work better.

  • "To accuse the Jewish state of genocide is to cross a moral threshold." - France foreign minister, according to the article's first line.

What moral threshold, mr. foreign minister? Moral threshold that separates the western "right and responsibility" to invade, occupy, do mass massacres, out the people through genocide by both killing them by the thousands and destroying or stealing their cultural heritage, funneling all if their natural resources at dirt cheap prices to add to your own wealth? Hmm, maybe it isn't slavery when you just "outsource"it?

What moral threshold? Something like "Israel government can't be fascists because they are the ruling organization over a people that were put through Holocaust by our then-enemies-but-current-allies, so only we can form any narrative about them?"

Western democracies' hypocrisy on full display as usual. Defenders of the human rights, only when it is their people and when they comply with their hegemonic agenda.
