  • Go to brunch at an upscale restaurant and find the table filled with white women drunk on mimosas. One of them is always a lawyer. Befriend her. It's easiest if you're gay, or can pretend to be.

  • I was in a similar boat previously and can attest that seltzer helped me shake the habit. And then I got bored of that so I just drink water, sometimes with flavor packets (think Crystal Light). I still buy a bottle of diet caffeine free coke now and then, but it's a rare, special treat.

  • And yet the traffic rules don't stop cyclists from riding the wrong way down my one-way street a dozen times a day. I've nearly hit them with my car door or walked in front of them with my dog because I'm checking the other direction, where cars would be coming from. No cop is going to pull over a bicycle so they just ignore the rules.

  • Cybertruck pre-orders started in 2019, well before Musk's bigotry was widely known. It was to be the first ev truck on the market, and the pre-order price was tempting. Folks paid for these things and are now stuck with them. You literally are not allowed to sell them. What should those people do?

  • When I was 14 I got a cat. The first day, he disappeared somewhere inside of the house and I couldn't find him. I figured he was just hiding in a cozy spot. The next morning, I woke up to a dead bat at the foot of my bed. I can only guess that he had found his way into the attic crawl space and brought a fresh kill for me to enjoy.

  • In 2nd grade the teacher had to step out of the room for several minutes and put me in charge. If anyone misbehaved, I was to write their name on the chalkboard. One group of boys did misbehave, so I wrote down their names.

When the teacher returner, she scolded me for "being a snitch" and sent me to the principal's office.

  • Adding onto this, it was totally free and you could just endlessly scroll through profiles, read them, look at their answers to questions, etc. No need to say "yes" or "no" to each profile judt to see the next one. And if you answered all of the personality questions (there were hundreds if not thousands) you were invited to become a site mod, which I did.
