  • Then it's fine to fasten a noose around the natives' neck and very gradually tighten it?

What else could you be indicating by posting about this in this context? It's true that natives were nomadic people moving through the land, but how does that make it right for europeans to come in and claim land in a permanent fashion from across the globe?

  • It’s incredibly frustrating and scary, because the narrative is fully turning into “jews are evil”, and there is nothing any Jewish person can do about it.

If it's any kind of comfort to you, I got radicalized against Zionism by jews. A lot of jewish observers are fighting to free Palestine.

I did hear some palestinian or muslim speak out against Israel's inhuman apartheid state, but jews have been making the best case I've heard for freeing palestine.

  • Did you see the latest images coming out of Gaza? They're drip feeding humanitarian aid to crowds of people herded like cattle in wired fences.

It's utterly outrageous, even by Israel's standard. Their activities are too repulsive to ignore for a lot of commentators.

  • I think that - on a global scale - a fair amount of people has cause to be grateful to Trump. Whether it's intended or not, he's tearing down the current geopolitical statu quo and waking up people politically.

On the flipside, I do worry that we narrowly avoided the fire in order to stay in the pan, to subvert the old saying. Over in Canada, we reelected a party that has a lot of flaws, and that their defining benefit is "isn't the conservative right". I'm glad we avoided a conservative sweep, but let's not pretend the shady opposition is significantly better.

  • "Mostly stable". I've had my fair share of issues with Windows.

But one of the big benefit is that it is much easier to diagnose an issue on Windows, just by sheer volume of mainstream usage (IE users complaining about issues and seeking help online). Also, tech support won't turn you around because you are on Linux, an OS they straight up refuse to support.

  • I had the same outlook before switching to Arch Linux, but honestly gaming on Linux is actually the lesser of my hassle. I can genuinely just grab msi files or exe files for games and feed them to Steam to get them playing via Proton. There's only one (1!) game that I can't play, and I'm 99% certain it's a problem with my hardware, not my OS (Monster Hunter Wilds seems to hate my GPU and crash all the time). But even that was fixed with a mod (up until the latest update).

With that said, I've had a lot of hassle handling other things that are upstream of gaming so it's not like you're unreasonable in wanting an OS that is mostly stable. Then again, I made the decision to use Arch Linux, there's distros that are simpler afaik.

  • Kind of crazy how much noise people make on baseless claims of Trump being a Russian asset, but AIPAC is bragging in broad daylight about their control on US government.

  • I don't know man, the north Atlantic ocean isn't that arbitrary. I'm just saying that our population has been burned out worrying about super high level stuff that doesn't impact them as much as neighborhood activism.

I'm not accusing you of being a trumpist, but Trump literally called the US-Canada border an arbitrary line, so maybe try a different talking point for this topic?

  • I'm not in favor of this.

We don't need more super-national institution telling us what to do. I'm on board for good relations and for taking ideas from them, but we need to stop giving power to distant institutions that aren't truly invested in our success.

  • I swapped from Windows 10 specifically because I didn't want to be in the Windows 11 and forward environment. (I use Arch btw)

I really don't regret it, the set up was really painful but once that was done, the KDE had so many good features that I immediately felt at home. I'm floored by how good Proton/Steam is at handling games, I don't think I've had to skip on any game due to my OS (so far).

  • Ah jee guys, he's got a point, imagine the tariffs and weird annexation talk he would have with liberals if liberals were in power 4 years from now.

If only we had some ways or historic telling us how he would interact with liberals in power like say, Trudeau or something.
