  • Okay, I'm definitely not trying to "both sides" here. I will absolutely be voting for Biden, I wish he was stronger on a few issues but ultimately think he's done a pretty good job as president. Don't you think there are a lot of people on the other side of that coin as well, even strategy stated here and elsewhere that people "must" vote for Biden even if it's just to stop Trump?

Again, not saying I disagree, while I have reasons to welcome a Biden second term I wish we had better options than a 2020 rematch, and part of me will absolutely be voting for Biden because a second Trump term terrifies me and will likely mean the end of any semblance of democracy we have left.

  • The only thing, literally the only thing, that I liked from Win11 over 10 is that it can run x86 apps on ARM - I could play Final Fantasy XI (20+ year old game) on Windows 11 dual-booted from my M1 MacBook Air, when I had one.

  • From an access to information request, I was able to obtain the documents related to the decision to undo the 4-year long WFH decision.

What does this even mean? Information request to who? Are you sure you didn't just read it in one of the hundreds of reddit or lemmy comments about this?

  • I remember this being a talking point when he was running against Obama in 2007. It's not diminished mental faculties to misspeak sometimes. The guy has been a better president than Trump could ever hope to be. It's bullshit that it's going to be these two old fucks facing each other again, but it's the hand we've been dealt.

Vote for Biden and then start laying the groundwork for 2028. Democracy doesn't happen once every four years.

  • My wife, whose entire history with video games is Sims 3, Animal Crossing: NH, and Pokémon Go, played through this game start to finish and loved it. It wasn't really made for "gamers", it was made for Harry Potter fans that wanted to play a Hogwarts game. It didn't succeed as a gaming revolution, it succeeded in bringing non-gamers to buy it.

Personally, I love that she got into it whether it's mid or not, because it introduced her to a lot of the mechanics necessary to play "real" games in the future. And she had a lot of fun.

  • Civilization has settings buried in the menu like

    New to Civilization (default)

    New to Civilization VI

    New to Civilization [Expansion 1]

    New to Civilization [Expansion 2]

    Disabled

Something like these options could go a long way -

    New to Pokémon (all tutorials)

New to Pokémon on [Console] (tutorials specific to controls on that console)

New to Pokémon [Generation] (tutorials specific to new mechanics in that generation)

    Disabled (no tutorials)

  • Yeah, that's normal - ceramic and glass will get hot from the food or steam, just if the plate itself gets hot, it's absorbing microwaves itself.

I know because I used to have a mug that would get hot when microwaved, and one day it exploded.
