  • Their main function was to avoid lawsuits, like the rest of HR. I feel like these companies forgot that they were all sued because they discriminated against women and non-white applicants and employees. This is just going to make it easier to prove discrimination in court.

  • Why would you think "rich people made money"? They already hold the shares and would be trying to sell. It would be impossible to sell any large amount of shares after hours directly after a huge negative issue. If you could sell (say $1 million worth), it would be at a much lower price.

That's probably why the price dropped. The market doesn't actually react to news, it reacts to investors buying and selling. If the price went down that means people with lots of shares are trying to get out.

  • They get around it by having a sale on a special version of the product that had a higher price in the past 30 to 90 days. The version is the same as normal, but with a different serial number.

Only that version goes on "sale" for Black Friday or whatever, so they are technically following the law. They do it in the US too. Literally look it up on Camel Camel Camel during a sale.

  • Lol. They buried the lede:

Guilfoyle discussed unverified Newsmax's reporting that Biden would step aside without endorsing Vice President Kamala Harris as the nominee.

"Unverified"? Is that a polite word for "made up"? If Biden did step aside he would be Kamala's biggest cheerleader.

    Fucking vote

  • And young people wonder why no one listens to them. Get mad. Call your elected officials about things that you care about. Volunteer for someone you like. Donate if you can. Commenting online is not doing anything.

    Oh yeah... fucking vote.

  • This was Trump at age 74: https://www.nytimes.com/2021/02/11/us/politics/trump-coronavirus.html

President Donald J. Trump was sicker with Covid-19 in October than publicly acknowledged at the time, with extremely depressed blood oxygen levels at one point and a lung problem associated with pneumonia caused by the coronavirus, according to four people familiar with his condition.

His prognosis became so worrisome before he was taken to Walter Reed National Military Medical Center that officials believed he would need to be put on a ventilator, two of the people familiar with his condition said.

The people familiar with Mr. Trump’s health said he was found to have lung infiltrates, which occur when the lungs are inflamed and contain substances such as fluid or bacteria. Their presence, especially when a patient is exhibiting other symptoms, can be a sign of an acute case of the disease. They can be easily spotted on an X-ray or scan, when parts of the lungs appear opaque, or white.

Mr. Trump’s blood oxygen level alone was cause for extreme concern, dipping into the 80s, according to the people familiar with his evaluation. The disease is considered severe when the blood oxygen level falls to the low 90s.

  • Bankers? Nah. Media and Telcom? Not likely. They’re all based in NYC, the bluest of the blue cities.

Now you're just making things up. You can't just say "nah, not likely" and prove anything. It's a lack of effort that shows you don't have evidence.

NYC is a "blue city" (whatever that means) because of these professionals. The actual working class people in NYC make up a lot of the conservatives. That's why cities are more liberal: because they have more educated people. Those people work in banking or media; they're not all artists or plumbers or something.

  • Lots of them. Do you know any Republicans? None of them care about issues that don't affect them and their families. Even other "conservative" issues. They are not driven by policy.

Only Republicans with guns care about guns. And only 50% of Republicans have guns.

    https://news.gallup.com/poll/264932/percentage-americans-own-guns.aspx

They don't care about each other. Liberals care about what other liberals think. Stop thinking like someone who cares about policy.

  • Biden is doing this to drive a wedge into Republicans. The gun nuts and the ones that don't care about guns will have differing opinions because now gun violence affects them directly. It's really smart.

Biden looks presidential. Trump has three choices:

    1. Come out against AR-15s, for obvious reasons. This makes gun nuts less likely to vote for him.
    2. Come out in favor of AR-15s. He looks insane to Republicans who don't care about guns.
    3. Trump ignores the issue or waffles and looks unpresidential.

Number 3 is most likely. Of course the correct answer is number 4: propose a competing policy that is nuanced. But that's impossible for trump.

  • Lol. You must live in the middle of nowhere or know some pretty lazy landlords. Raising the rent yearly is like number one on the list of being a landlord.

If other people are doing it too, where is the tenant going to go? You just match the same market price for a comparable unit. Same with decreases (if that happens).
