  • Resistance touchscreens have been around for a long time.

Capacitive touchscreens weren't commercially viable until the early-mid 00s. Apple literally stole the UI and design patterns from other companies to do their stuff. E.G. See the money they still pay to Creative Labs.

  • E.G. Fallout 4 is fantastic exploration.

It's best gameplay is when your ignore the plot entirely and create your own story.

Same with Skyrim, Fallout 3 and Oblivion.

The actual main plots are simplistic, boring and oddly quick. Weirdly, each of the games has an expansion that has a well done quest line, so its not that they can't do it, they choose to not do it.

  • No it doesn't.

Morrowind's entire map was hand made. All of its quests were hand made.

Starting with Oblivion, they moved to make most of the map and quests automatically with minimal human intervention.

To the point that they admitted it was too much for the tech at the time and actually hurt the gameplay, and pulled back for Skyrim, using a mix of computer made and human made content, adding in the radiant quest system in an attempt.to make the gameplay "endless".

The modern thing we call AI is just the chatbots from a decade prior with improved processing power and vastly larger data sets to work with. The tech in those chatbots had been working in various pieces for a decade before that.

  • The republican party didn't want to take responsibility for war crimes.

President Bill Clinton was critically involved in setting the thing up, but left office before he could sign it.

Dubya, aka president George Bush, then pulled out of it entirely unless they baked in perpetual blanket immunity for the US. Notably this was before 9/11, legalizing torture, Afghanistan, and Iraq.

  • Yeah, fully admit all I really know is that the deposed president was democratically elected, that the military junta was not, that Russia is suspected of BS, and that the migrant issue is potentially involved.

The first one is the important one to me, that its a Ecowas sanctioned military dictatorship making the claim that Ecowas is going to invade with France's help.

  • The cities are completely unaffordable.
All of the parties are in favour of using TFW programs to suppress workers rights and not doing anything about blatantly illegal anti-worker activities.

The Trudeau government is welcoming immigrants at a rate of at least 3% of the population per year(not the problem), but not spending a penny on infrastructure to support that kind of increase(a big problem)

Carbon offset credits are a complete joke.

The ISPs are in charge of the body that is supposed to regulate and rein them in.

BC is being devastated by climate change and Ottawa isn't lifting a damn finger on it.

  • Oh he's an idiot. But he can pay for people to plan things for him.

I don't doubt there was an original plan to gut the staff, sit back and profit from it while also having full control of the platform. So some of his investors, like the fucking Saudi crown, could benefit from that.

But when that failed they went this way. He didn't finance it himself, he certainly could have. Instead he got a group of wealthy investors involved, so maybe each is only on the hook for a billion or two; which to them is nothing. Hell, Musk himself grew his net worth from 150 to over 200 billion in that time.

Also there is precedent in what Trump(a bigger idiot for sure) did with the Atlantic city casino failure. Worked it so that he could use its losses as a tax write-off for years after.

  • Google: wants to push their browser based DRM, to which they would inevitably be the ultimate controller of, in the name of "safety".

Also Google: intentionally kneecaps the existing certificate system which is the main safety system of the web.

Gee, I wonder if the two are connected.

  • They are going to flock in and try to buy it out from under them. Again. Probably fail harder this time since it's the same oligarchs in charge that benefitted last time.

And then probably try to move heavy manufacturing in there for slave wages.
