  • As is often the case, I think a lot is driven by fans digging in and doubling down in response to the vocal haters.

  • You can try asking Google for a refund, I did that because I did ad-free lifetime before realizing there was an ultra lifetime. I suspect the sooner you do it after the purchase the better, though mine is still under review so we'll see. I also tried to make sure to explain that I was basically just trying to swap for a higher tier of product in the app as part of my refund request.

  • 10k downloads in 2 days, hot damn.

  • $20 for lifetime ad-free, $99 for lifetime "Ultra" which has features that use paid APIs for translation and image parsing.

  • $99/US for Ultra Lifetime, $20 for "just" Ad Free Lifetime.

I'm actually used to the opposite. Subscriptions I would kind of expect to carry over, because they were intended to cover a very specific length of time, independent of any versioning. Any lifetime or one time purchases are exactly the ones that I would expect to not carry over. ( Even though I would love for them to. ) Because in modern day, lifetime mostly gets interpreted as the lifetime of the major version or product. It's not really even meant as a defense, just an acknowledgment that that is the norm, for better or worse.

  • We'll see if LJ responds, but I'm pretty sure it's been established that none of the Reddit licensing is carrying over. I'm in a similar boat to you in that regard.

  • I didn't realize you added a lifetime Ultra option and I already did ad free, is there any way to roll the ad free into a lifetime?

  • Love it, this is great, there's even a search.

  • I'm a little split on the implied "degree" of automation/lack of thought. But maybe "I" am the one that's split.

  • It really was bugging me that the "official" community didn't have one while the backup did. =P

  • Boots should be flagged in their name and it's all or nothing but you should have a "Show Bot Accounts" option in your settings.

  • Right now, for some of us at least, it's kind of early days for watching subs only, my feed is kind of slow without being on All, and it helps me discover new communities.

  • Lemmy users see kbin magazines as communities and vice versa. OP mentioned/asked in the context of both platforms.
