That's why I was excited about the online partffew years ago - imagine gtav but in night city, backed by CDPR? If done well it's be printing money for them and guarantee constant updates and improvements for us. Unfortunately it just wasn't meant to be it seems :/
Ehh, unfortunately it still aint ready. Beehaaw is considering moving off it actually, lemmy.world, kbin, beehaw have all sorts of defederations or domain blocks between them so you can't even get by with a single account anymore, and feature-wise its still years behind reddit in terms of mod tools.
Reddit is gonna stay simply because for 99% people its still better than the other options.
If they give me a refund I will stop caring, until then you don't really get to say 'who cares, forget about it for another decade'. I paid money for a product that still doesn't exist and is more than 8 years overdue, and that's even without getting into the discussion about whether the PU is worth it or not - where is sq42?
I feel old, I don't understand 90% of words in this thread lol.
I just have kodi on Libreelec with a jellyfin plugin on my rpi4 and even that struggled with overheating at times. So I run most stuff on my pc instead. I'm tempted to try the portainer to get some experience with docker tho.
Yeah sorry I wasn't clear enough. Basically if you liked the base game, DLC is more of it. If you didnt I dont think it's gonna do much for you. I'm only a few hours into the DLC but it's been pretty great so far, but then again I loved most of the core game as well. Worth 30 for me.
Id say 2.0 is worth it alone and all content in PL is icing on the cake, but everyone has a different definition of worth. Some people paid a hundred bucks for starfield for example and I'll never understand it. I also find it hard to argue against PL since no other game really fits this niche so I'm happy with any extra content we can get.
I'm really disheartened that most of the people I follow on twitter haven't moved to other platforms, or if they did they decided to go to bluesky that is the same shit as twitter (or is bound to be in a few years).
Unfortunately, that has been proven false many many times. Even if by some miracle online communities manage to organize to that extent, and they manage by some miracle to actually follow through with it... it is still a drop in the ocean compared to the casual market that doesn't care at all.
I really hope they patch some of the bugs then because otherwise it's gonna be unplayable. I have to use the remove glitch mod since my save got bugged after the glitch effect got stuck permanently on my character after a convo with Johnny.
Same here, corpo Valerie and nomad Vincent seem like the best match. Even in terms of romances, if you can stand going through Panam's lol.
They definitely give off different vibes so I'd say it's worth experiencing both for sure.
Oh yeah, I played it very small scale many years ago and never got into pvp or large scale competitive building so I only had local stories to keep me entertained. Had a small base with a few friends and we'd trade beeswax for low quality ores from a nearby big village so we could get some metal tools since we didn't have access to a mine.
It was always so exciting loading a chest full of valuables (to us at least it was a fortune), carrying it a boat, traveling 5-10 minutes down river to a big settlement and then yelling and trading outside of their gate. Then they carry out their goods while you anxiously wait there, not allowed to enter their big city 😅
The pvp, botting, cheaters and general dev attitude really turned me off that game but I'll always have fond memories of it.
Tbf PD2 was the same way yet I had tons of fun with it. At some point the horde shooting is just about overall performance and resource management, not combat itself, while the main gameplay is doing the objective alongside it. I preferred going with stealth most of the times anyway.
That being said, if the objectives sucks and combat is unchanged then there's nothing to make it actually fun and yeah, that's an issue.
