  • Ctrl + Shift + Esc is the real G way to open task manager.

  • Shitty software? The software is great. It sucks that we live in a world that needs MFA to be secure. I also don't think any software exists in the IT space that doesn't require some sign in. Every RMM on the planet is going to require secure sign on and so will every knowledge base software. You also need to sign in to access things like domain DNS. Most of my job is locked behind half a dozen sign ins. That's how it goes for MSPs anything else would be unsecure.

  • Sign in states for tokens expire when you power cycle. If you're in IT or moving between classes, not only would you have to wait for power down and power on each stop you make, you'd also need to sign into every tool you use that requires credentials. I work as a field tech for an MSP. If I had to shut down at the end of each stop and boot back up then I'd have to spend 20-30 minutes signing back into my RMM, ticket system, azure portal, knowledge base etc on top of the site specific stuff I'm already going to have to sign into for that stop. Sleep great. Just disable S0 sleep.

  • You're a union rep discouraging boycott protests? Then you're a bad union rep.

  • Why don't you wake up and do something then if you feel so impassioned? Instead, I see you're wasting your time complaining on an obscure reddit alternative.

  • For one, the people do not impeach a president, the Congress did. And point deux, impeachment does not result in removal of a president. Impeachment is the first step in removal and usually just amounts to Congress saying "we didn't like what you did. Bad president!"

Whatever you feel is acceptable is not how the government works here.

  • Then you're not understanding what NPR is at all. NPR is a non-profit radio station that provides free access to news, music, and programming over the radio and through TV and internet channels. Whatever NPR makes in revenue is through donations. Of course their budget is separate from their revenue. You have to have a budget at all to produce revenue.

What this is saying is that NPR spends 100x more than the government will give them to provide a literal free service to the citizens of the USA. NOR is practically self-sufficient while SpaceX is a for profit corporation whose bigger client is the federal government. If either of these organizations are a leech, it's certainly not NPR. One of them needs the money to survive.

  • That's after the DNC pulled the leash on his more progressive stances. He has a very clear, fall in line moment shortly after being picked for VP candidate.

  • He literally did not. He has historically publicly backed Israel and after the October 20th attack, he was pro Israel and anti Hamas but has always stated that not all Palestinians are Hamas and that the death of innocent Palestinians is unacceptable. He also publicly called for a permanent ceasefire and has stated that American Pro-palastinian protesters are doing public good and fighting for the right ideas.

  • His stance on Israel vs Palestine is pretty agreeable. Palestine ≠ Hamas and Israel should be held accountable for the deaths of innocent Palestinians.

  • Except, before the DNC reeled him in with kamala's campaign, he regularly had excellent policy and progressive stances that would shake the middlest of middle right Dems. Things like free school lunches and gender affirming care and reproductive health care protections from the federal government. I would take him over Kamala any day to be quite honest.

  • That's what the primaries are for. Selecting a candidate for your party to proceed with. The general election should set aside that division with the candidate having been chosen for the party already.

  • The same can be said for many neurodivergent "disorders" like ADHD and OCD and Depression. Though I would point out that many of these disorders could easily be recategorized as traits and everyone has some number of traits regardless of if you are seen as neurotypical or not. I would argue that "treatment" is a modification of traits such that we fit a mold in modern society and not necessarily to make us better for our own sake but for the sake of those around us that don't understand how our brains work.

I medicate to make myself less of an inconvenience for you. Not necessarily to make my life better for me.

Not the case for all neurodivergents but I know a lot who share the sentiment.

  • In systems where memory speed are mismatched, the system runs at the slowest module's speed. So literally making the soldered, faster memory slower. Why even have soldered memory at that point?

  • Signal integrity is a real issue with dimm modules. It's the same reason you don't see modular VRAM on GPUs. If the ram needs to behave like VRAM, it needs to run at VRAM speeds.

  • We already have minimum ages higher than 19... Also tech literacy is massively important when the law writing bodies are writing laws about tech. Most of our modern laws are anchored in tech that 60 year old, life long politicians just don't know anything about. Also term limits are a separate issue from age entirely. I don't think any government position should be life time appointment and I definitely don't think that a government position should give you any real financial advantage over anyone else in the country. Government jobs should just be jobs like every other salary position in the country. It should also come with restrictions on stock trading and anything else that corrupts. That's why I suggest a jury system for an ethics review board.

  • It's absolutely an age issue. When was the last time you met someone over the age of 60 who was both good with computers and technology in general and also has never worked in the tech industry? Id also love to see the number of government elected officials who have ever suffered any sort of real poverty and compare their ages to their peers. I guarantee that spreadsheet alone tells a novel.

I want to see an enforced retirement age, a maximum age for first time election, and a strict term limit for all positions of government. I would also love to see all elected and appointed officials stripped of the right to financial privacy and a sort of jury system of a quarterly ethics board made up of citizens chosen at random to make review decisions on official government actions.

It's time citizens had more control over our government. They are employed by our tax dollars after all.

  • Can't play tarkov on steam deck without windows or moonlight and moonlight over hospital wifi would be worse than tarkov natively over hospital wifi.
