  • Fucking republican trash will lie about anything, and there's literally nothing that their supporters are not too stupid to believe.

  • Well all these representatives go back to their districts and then lie about it. And they say they voted for the relief but Biden denied it.

In fact, only one request has been denied in recent memory and it was by Trump.

  • Where I live, literally the place where they killed the last wolf in the state, is landmark, and the guy who did it has a town named after him.

  • I met a dude that was a trophy Hunter. He was Mormon. Had some crazy ideas that the entire planet was given to people by God or whatever just to exploit and take. Fucking crazy.

  • Trophy hunting. I agree. It's disgusting.

  • No one says this because that's not at all what karma means.

  • You don't even need to where I hunt and fish. As long as you can pull it up on your phone, that's good enough.

  • Ehhh, mine was like six hours, I'm pretty sure. But even then they do drill this point.

Aside from that, literally no respectful hunter wants to maim an animal. Aside from the practical aspect of having to track a blood trail and hope you find the animal deceased, no hunter wants to inflict pointless suffering.

Nothing about it would be enjoyable. As a hunter it's at the top of my list for things that could go wrong but can be pretty much be easily avoided.

  • How about you put on some waders, hike to the woods, walk into the river, and fly fish?

Fly fishing is constant action because even casting is fun. Also, you don't ever let the fly just sit there doing nothing for anything more than 30 seconds. So at most you're waiting for 30 seconds. During those 30 seconds, as your fly floats down the river, you might get the amazing chance to see a fish swim up and gobble it down right off the top of the river. Nothing more satisfying then fish taking a dry fly. It's true angling, fooling the quarry, using it's own instincts against it.

And even if you are just not catching any fish, you can always stand there and watch the bugs so you can hone in on what the fish are eating. Because they are in there, and they never stop eating.

  • "You have seen people in this courtroom, you have seen them at this trial, you have met them in your life, have every reason to respect them, to love them, to appreciate them, except that maybe one of their ancestors going back and back and back to where perhaps they had ten thousand ancestors, and one of them was black or partly black, and he has to be a hewer of wood and drawer of water and all of his generation, to the end of time to be cursed that way by those who think their blood is pure.

Of course, the marvel of it is that there is not any such thing as pure blood.

How far can you go back in yours, how far can I go back in mine? I knew who my father was and who my mother was, and I know who all four of my grandparents were, but when I get back of that I am lost in obscurity and night. I know they came from New England. I hate to admit it, but they did,--pure Nordic.

    MR. TOMS: New England Nordic?

MR. DARROW: New England Nordic. Isn’t it awful? I know it. I had to bear it and get along with it the best I could for all these years. For all I know they may have been related to Jonathan Edwards. From there they go back to England, but what of it? Gentlemen, I don’t know where they came from back of that or that far, and I know that back of me and back of you is an infinite ancestry stretching away back at least five hundred thousand years, and we are made up of everything on the face of the earth, of all kinds and colors and degrees of civilization, and out of that come we.

Who are we, any of us, to be boastful above our fellows?"

Clarence Darrow, Esq., in the successful closing argument in defense of Ossian Sweet

  • Lol whatever you say but you're wrong. Might be a breach of contract but if it's a private corporation, it has nothing to do with the First Amendment. The rare exception would be where the private entity is merely an agent of the government, such as a private prison.

  • No. First Amendment applies to action by the government.

  • Based on all the comments in this thread, this seems like the best course to me.

Honestly, I didn't know much about this and didn't have a strong opinion from the beginning. I just looked quick on Google and saw the results for America was to only seek treatment if there's been a confirmed bite or scratch.

This Canadian advice makes way more sense. I like that last paragraph that explains the protocol from 1998 to 2009 would have required treatment of 314,000 people to prevent one case. This poor kid in the article might have been that one case.

But it seems like under the current recommendations the kid would not have been tested. It says now treatment only only after direct contact, defined as a bat touching or landing on a person. In this situation, I think they didn't know if the bat had touched the kid at all.

  • What's the problem for you with nursing ?

Is it job insecurity or is it travel?

My understanding is that traveling nurses make very good money. Obviously there's more to life than money though.

I'm sure you don't have to leave medicine to make good money and have a different working arrangement. There are all sorts of alternative non-nursing jobs for nurses. How do you see there's administration, insurance, consulting, or even just continuing to search for the situation that you want.

The question is not would it be more beneficial, it's what do you want to do? Do you want to be a nurse at all? Did you rush into it because a guidance counselor told you it's a great career path?

I have two friends in cyber security and I could not tell you what they do but they both seem to make very good money without working very hard, but they've both also been computer nerds since the 90's.

  • Many, if not all Trump supporters, are disabled. So they leave early because it takes them a long time to find their car.
