  • it’s that the brake is on the extreme right of the pedal box

I would have learned something new if that was the case. Any documentation on that?

Ollie says "right foot break" which is different from modern F1 with two pedals where the left foot only is for breaking.

  • Here you can see how it is done in a rally car, which should be very similar to what Prost needs to do: https://youtube.com/shorts/WLIL2priaVU

Basically, they rev the engine and then release the clutch so the engine rpm matches the road-speed in the lower gear. It allows for faster release of the clutch.

  • This is not about the team, it is about the Red Bull brand and the marketing value. And with all the negativity around the team, it has gone down. It was in the past years accepted because the sporting performance was good, but that has now come to an end.

  • It is a game: When Russel nearly crashed into Verstappen because Verstappen was driving slow during an out-lap and Russel increased speed in his out-lap, Russel acted up in the stewards room with the end-result being a penalty for Verstappen. Verstappen later said he had never experienced such behavior of a fellow driver in the stewards room and he blamed Russel for his penalty.

Yesterday's protest was just a lame attempt by RedBull to show the inconsistency in stewarding. Whether they succeeded and whether it is hypocritical does not matter. They are trying to influence the stewards to decide more favorable for RB in future events.

  • For safety reasons, a tiny bit too fast in the pitlane was punished heavily. Now it turns out that even 20km/h faster could still be safe?

Approaching the pitstop area 20km/h faster and going to a full stop can be dangerous as well.

I predict a heavy accident within 2 years.
