  • Researchers have figured out that wild mamals like cats or foxes lose their typical camo fur after having not to hunt and low adrenaline levels for 3 to 4 generations. Then they get typical mixed colours more often like red, white, brown and so on.

So the cat in the picture is pretty close to the wild colours and obviously it works.

  • Nixos.

  • I like the idea. And since I am breaking my system on a regular basis I love the possibility to go back or not break it in the first place. However I noticed some issues.

Iscsi isn't working since the program can't change specific files. Vlc settings can't be changed and sth is wrong with the default ones.

Nixos makes things write only that shouldn't be or there's missing an option to make a new version by changing the file.

  • Eval shouldn't be used on userinput. Meaning that if smb other than you may use this to change the system he could put malicious code in the eval part.

Probably doesn't matter on shell level

  • Whatever the positives are. This are my reasons to keep it closed.

    1. Noise. It gets quite loud when my door isn't closed.
    2. Temperature. I don't wanna heat the whole hallway.
    3. Security. I don't feel safe when the door is open.
    4. Mosquitoes. I don't like having those in my room.

  • Uhhh I have both!!!

How? Well let's explain my setup that any Nvidia gpu on Linux hates.

We have a 2k monitor on the bottom and a 1080p tv on the top.

Now on LinuxMint I have screen tearing vertically (especially when proton is running) and horizontally in the area where the two screens meet.

On debian I only had horizontal screen tearing occasionally.

  • Currently my Linux installs broke as often as my windows ones. However in Linux I am to blame 70% of the times it broke.

    On windows maybe 10%

And from my experience the Linux crashes and broke OS went down a hefty rate in the last 10 years. The windows only a little bit.

If this continues it's going to be more stable to tinker in Linux than windows.

  • Problem with that is that in comparison the alternative to CFC was not that more expensive and then a cheaper one was invented shortly after.

For climate change you basically can double our energy costs and therefore double the cost of almost everything.

  • I mean I don't know how much money steam is banking, but they provide quite a good service for their share.

Max download rates at all times (almost).

Amazing steam overlay. Online gaming. Online saves. Workshop. Linux support.

And many more. Some of that epic has too but in comparison epic launcher is shit.

  • It is anti-consumer. And yes many Android phones are anti-consumer too just not as bad as Apple yet.

I as the consumer want to have the option to do what I want with my device. I want to be able to root it, install software that isn't meant for it and even flash a completely different os.

It's a choice. Nobody has to do but should be able to if they want to. Taking this choice away is anti-consumer.

Gluing in a battery into a phone when there's no need to because it even has space left to make the old swapable ones possible is anti-consumer because you take the option away to change it without breaking your phone.

  • Ok so you hate android because you couldn't stop tinkering with it and it got unstable? And you love apple because they don't let you tinker with it?

You must the only one who is actually benefiting from apples anti-consumer practices. Keep using apple. It seems the right choice for you.

If you don't tinker with Android it is stable and has almost no bugs. Can't speak for apps because that is the developers responsibility.

And yes Android phones are usually more inefficient but as long as I can use it a whole day without charging I don't care.
