  • Well, after a few of these uncommitted votes, he started changing. They invited Gantz, the VP is making public statements about Isreal going too far, the calls for ceasefire are growing more urgent, and I imagine more is on the table, and we'll see the administrations stance continue to harden.

By your own reasoning, we don't need to let the greater evil win because we've already incentivized the desired behavior and are seeing change unfolding.

  • No True Scotsman: defending an ingroup by excluding members that don't agree with a particular stance. A subset of the Appeal to Purity fallacy, which argues that someone doesn't do enough or have enough of some attribute to be included in a group. Other examples (deliberately inflammatory to cause a knee-jerk reaction to show how easy it is to fall into these things) would be "You can't be a good person and support Donald Trump for Persident" or "You can't support Palestine and still vote for Biden."

I don't agree with OPs statement, but I do agree with their sentiment. Nuclear energy is one of the best options available from an environmental standpoint to meet our baseline energy needs and supplement grids using non-persistant renewable loke wind and solar.

  • I assume that threat is on the table at this point. If we blow our whole wad at once, we won't be able to ratchet up the pressure each time we need to. Between letting Netanyahu's political rivals meet with the US government and the VP speaking up now, too. The pattern of incremental pressure is pretty apparent. We don't want to end up in a situation where we have no leverage left and the war continues.

Meanwhile, Trump is saying Israel should "finish the job" in Gaza.

  • I'm pretty sure that if Biden just decided to withhold (conditionally or otherwise) weapons for Israel that had already been flagged for that purpose by Congress, he'd be running a foul the same rules Trump violated by withholding aid from Ukraine. And regardless of whether he was doing it because he had a legitimate change-of-heart, it would totally look like it was for political gain after the uncommitted votes in the primary.

  • While I do really hate this guy, and I also assume he isn't mentally fit to manage a Wendy's, never mind being president...we shouldn't be listening to doctors willing to diagnose psychiatric conditions or mental health based on how someone is acting on TV. No doctor can get enough data to make an accurate diagnosis that way.

  • Unless you're using a VPN, the ISP knows, and I bet they keep the records. Even if you're using a VPN, they'll know what VPN server you connected so the feds go after them instead.

Depending on how many infringement claims they're making against OP, and I'm assuming it's a lot if they're asking for info on a specific user and not a whole sub, well, good luck OP

  • Neither. IVF is just like abortion...when they do it, it's OK because they had a good reason. When someone else does it, it's because they're going against God's will and deserve to be judged by both their neighbors and the government.

  • You absolutely can...there are a LOT of people that are supporting Israel because that's the de facto American position. They aren't chronically doom scrolling...if they are its from an algorithm that was designed to validate every pre-existing belief they've held. If they heard you say remember Aaron Bushnell, they'll probably assume it was another POC shot in back by a cop. Being a low information voter in an environment designed to make you so isn't a moral failing, and if you just write those people off, you'll never grow your coalition.
