  • What ? I've study botany and the term fruit is used extensively.

A fruit is the heterozygotic offspring of the parent plant. A seed is the male zygote, with the female zygote being pollen. So "seed" oils are made from fruit, just like olive oil.

A tuber (potato) or rhyzome (ginger) is a homozygotic offspring. A vegetable is a part of the plant that is not the offspring, like the leaves, stem or root.

  • The bigger deal is that this immunity protection does not extend to the President’s minions and officials.

Not directly, but any employee or agent has no liability if they are following legal orders of their employer. So no - they cannot be prosecuted either.

  • They said it was to be determined by a lower court. It was sent back to a lower court and Trump was convicted. But the judge ruled that no penalty should be applied because of the SCOTUS ruling on presidential immmunity and it was up to the DOJ to prosecute. The DOJ is under direct presidential control and by then Trump was in power.

SCOTUS could have prosecuted Trump directly, but as always, they deliberately slow walked it so the case would disappear. Which is exactly what they are going to do with all the current cases.

  • NFTs were a form of tax avoidance.

Art purchases in the US are tax deductible. So you buy an artwork and then sell it your own family trust and that is not taxabele income.

The only downside is that artwork may be damaged, so you have to insure it. NFTs being entirely digital didn't need to be insured.

The NFT thing falied when they were removed by the IRS from being defined as artwork.

  • The administration will just apply for an appeal to the decision - 6 months - then if it is approved it goes to a one man Supreme Court ruling (18 months), then they appeal again (12 months) and it goes to the full bench (24 months) who will declare its now outside the scope of action.

  • As far as I can find out, there is no constitutional restriction on outsourcing the imprisonment of Americans in foreign countries. This is not deportation.

Australia was founded on the outsourcing of imprisonment of British prisoners, after the US war of Independence when US states refused to continue to take British prisoners.

Garcia was determined to be a refugee because he was a member of an El Salvadorian gang, so there is no likelihood he will be released in El Salvador.

  • "You need a pen licence because that's what you use at work".

Um no. Secretaries, lawyers and journalists used typewriters and engineers used propelling pencils. Builders had these odd rectangular shaped pencils that could write on anything. Fitters and boilermakers used chalk.

    Only schoolchildren used biros.
