If you had to say one country is about as close to perfect as it can get current day- what country would it be?

  • NL is currently similar to that one Homer Simpson meme, where he hides all the fat behind his back. We look good from the front, but due to procrastination of the government there are a lot of problems brewing beneath the surface. To name a few:

    • Nitrogen crisis
    • Housing shortage
    • Immigration crisis
    • Radicalisation of science deniers/politics
    • Stagnation of civil rights

    I hope that now Mark is gone, we might get at least some progress in some of these, but we will have to see

  • This is true but also keep in mind that Dutch is still leading in most cases. E.g. if you have a contract that's both in English and Dutch, if issues arise the Dutch translation will usually be the one that is followed

    • The sentiment in here makes me sad

  • Dunno man, seems like the typical response here in the NL. If you break the unspoken etiquette by leaving your bike on the walkway, other people feel less inclined to adhere to the unspoken etiquette of being careful with your stuff
