  • On the hate of Bluesky here from what I understand: it's just another twitter masquerading being open with almost impossible to run federation backenf if you're not some big rich organization that will enshittify and it's not mastodon

  • Personally I only ask after interacting for months, and I only offer mine the same way. By that I mean in positive interactions.

I agree with others that say it might be an awkward way to get to know you

In general though I just don't like to be DM'd unsolicited without me stalking following the account and get to know the vibe

  • The inventor and original owner of the company didn't get it either, AFAIK. He resisted a lot of things that makes aeropress more expensive just for the sake of it. Well he had to cash out sooner or later and this became of it.

Now I might be talking out of my ass, based on half unremembered internet tales.

But here's my own opinion on this: premium aeropress is just for people to showboat they have money.

I would instead pay for big aeropress though. Makes it easier to share coffee.

  • Pre buy out, Opera was kind of moving towards what Proton is doing now.

Now Vivaldi sets to continue that trajectory.

It's weird that Mozilla didn't. If they do it now they'll look like copycats, and they've burnt a lot of supporters with their TOS boogaloo it would take a lot from them to claw back some of those supporters

  • I thought they would reject it, but my band friends and their peers all like to use AI to brainstorm and draft songs and go from there making their own songs.

I thought that's interesting. I've asked them about it a few times on the lazy way of using AI and just make slop and yeah they're against that

I don't have any close friends who are drawing artists though I know a few through mutual hobbies on discord. They don't seem to be using AI as tools from what I can tell.

My dad and his circle are definitely churning slop though but says it's mostly for in-group joking and shooting the shit, so I guess that's fine

Me personally, I'm still hesitant using it. I'm an "everything" consultant that hates his place in the small IT company but rising my BPD II wave too much to change it. Everyone around me is fine using AI to help analyze and what not documents and stuff to help them work. I can see how they are useful once you know how to ask the thing, but I just don't want to.

  • I mean after Valve released the Steam Deck, Asus, Lenovo, MSI--to name just a few--followed suit with at least an iteration. Asus has the Ally and Ally X, Lenovo now have 3 models, and MSI only has 1.

I can't recall if there are any other big brands handheld PCs, but there's definitely Chinese ones.

  • Similar. As much as I disdain my current employment for being intellectual dead end – or I can't seem to make on intellectually fulfilling – I'm grateful I still have a job that can sustain me comfortably

  • Sounds like it would have to be free or low cost hobby. So probably I'd go hiking, and camping while reading books and making coffee with my aeropress

Basically yurucamp. A nice cosy anime. You should watch it

If there's somehow a way in this utopia scenario to also maintain a moped like a Honda supercub or vespa, add that as well as I cruise around between hiking and camp sites

Yes I can do that right now but you know how it is what it is

  • Good point. I'll try invizible.

I chose NextDNS when Android supports custom DNS. And dont wamt to run a "VPN" all the time. It just works for my threat model.

Found out about it from Tech Lore. Customizing the filters just felt natural since that's what I do with ublock anyways

PIA I use for torrenting as well so I don't think I'll ever stop that subscription

  • It definitely is still Winging. But I keep delaying to fix the the broken USB C and now I only charge using wireless. It also needs a battery replacement and each day I delay pretty sure it gets harder to get genuine parts.

It has fell a few tines with it open and I'm surprised that it's still working.

Will miss the bad boy when the time comes. While unconventional, it convinces me that I want a dual screen / foldable phone / "small phone that can go big phone in one device". Just that those are too expensive to justify.

  • From the description:

InviZible Pro is an all-in-one program. After installing it, you can easily delete all of your VPN applications and ad blockers. In most cases, InviZible Pro works better, is more stable, and faster than free VPNs.

Obviously it would be better than free VPN services. But I'm wondering how it would stack with my current set up. I already paid for NextDNS and PIA. Usually I don't run PIA unless I want to access spicy stuff. And 99.999% my NextDNS stuff works fine.

I'd love to pay less but I also want to know what I'm trading for it
