  • Later seasons of Clone Wars is quite good, same with Rebels. They fleshed out and/or introduced some of the best characters in the universe - with some of the best story arcs.
The Andor trilogy (including Rogue One) is phenomenal. Even if you don't like Star Wars.
The Madalorian starts out strong but degrades over time.
The Bad Batch also not bad.

But most of it has absolutely been quantity over quality. I mean, Episode 8 was so bad I still haven't seen Episode 9; haven't even bothered to pirate it.

  • There's some verses in the Bible that tell you to be wary of those that come dressed clean and godly, that pray in public, and make a spectacle of their worship.
I forget exactly the words but it is basically that yeah, they're filthy and ungodly inside.

  • I like Pit Vipers, not gonna wear them in public (not my style) but they're cool.
In a prior job I worked in quality assurance, we didn't have dedicated safety people in site so QA handled that too.
We could not get people to wear PPE on their own on the regular, especially ear pro. We'd have people bucking rivets and I'd walk up and hand then ear plugs (I always carried spare boxes of disposables in my pockets.)
Anyway, Pit Viper started making Z87 rated glasses. I bought a pair, started wearing them, people dug them. I contacted Pit Viper and they gave me a discount code for the site. Pit Viper eye pro exploded on site. At about the same time blue tooth ear pro was taking off. So people were wearing all their PPE.

My site manager didn't like the look or the Bluetooth ear muffs and told QA to tell people they couldn't wear them. I said, "Motherfucker, they're finally wearing their PPE and you want me to stop them because you think it looks unprofessional?! You wear white oakleys in public. No."
This is the same boss that wrote me up for bullying him twice. Anyways, the Pit Vipers reminded me of that.

  • Now, I've read that horses were native to the Asian continent and migrated elsewhere, eventually to the Americas. However, I was at the San Diego Natural History museum last night and they had a display that claims the opposite, that horses are native to then migrated out of the Americas.

*37 seconds of Wikipedia browsing did teach me that native horses went extinct in North America about 8,000 years ago, then were later reintroduced.

  • Reminds me of a story. Not as annoying as the DMV but there was a BBQ place in Texas, an old place in some old dying town. The place is open only 3 or 4 days a week until the meats are gone. When open the line goes out the door and down the sidewalk. I went once and the local high school kids would get in line. As they got closer to the front they'd start selling off spots, auctioning their place in line. The kids got paid then went and got in line again. Repeat.

  • She started losing me a few years ago, when claiming to be a socialist & pro-union, she voted to make it illegal for railroad workers to strike. Pro-union until their collective action might make life a little inconvenient, then knock their teeth out for the capitalists.
I haven't really kept track of her since then.

  • Eh ... if played out like the above comment suggests, with China giving us a little token tariff on US imports to twist the knife, we on the ground won't be affected. Fuck, we'll be vastly better off than under the Trump tariffs plans. We all win, he loses.

  • ¡Olé!

  • As I'm someone slowly and difficultly learning Spanish, for the soul purpose of visiting because, yo quiero comé muchos tacos de cabeza y bebe unas micheladas, I appreciate you. I'll bet I missed a dozen accents.

  • No, second in command is the Secretary of Defense. But if the Vice President is acting on behalf or under direction of the president it could be seen as a billet. Walking around bases every unit has pictures of their chains of command, all of them include the VP and have for a long time.

  • That's not what chain of command means. It simply establishes the hierarchy. Commands can be given by anyone who outranks you, or holds a billet that comes with higher authority. Trump and Vance at the top of that chain and can issue legal orders to literally anyone in the US military.
