  • Maybe a really nice edition of a book you already love, from a luxury publisher like The Folio Society or Easton Press?

  • I was a kbin.social user and I migrated over to kbin.earth after it went down.

  • If you still haven't tried anything FromSoft has made in the past decade, please do.

  • They specify in the study that the participants were "non-expert poetry readers." I'd be interested to see the same experiment repeated with English professors, or even just English majors. Folks with a lot of experience reading poetry. With exposure to its history, its notable works, and its different styles.

  • There was a moment in my life when I thought that perhaps I was outgrowing games... that they were just not really designed for the entertainment of adult human beings in a way that could satisfy me. Not one of my old stand-bys could, as you said, "scratch the itch" or provide "the same enjoyment that it used to." I found myself spending more time with films and books.

Then I got into FromSoft games and indie titles, and within a year I realized games still held incredible experiences for me. I hadn't outgrown games. I had only outgrown the bland slop represented by most AAA releases, and especially by online multiplayer releases. Personally, I'd recommend giving up on looking for a new 1000+ hour obsession. Instead I'd recommend seeking a broad array of 10-100 hour loves. If you haven't already tried them, for me a love of gaming was saved primarily by: Dark Souls, FTL, Spelunky, and Hollow Knight.

  • They pretty much tried that for a while, with their whole 'Nintendo YouTube Creators Program' bullshit.

  • Just have someone ask him what kind of 'nasty things he thinks democrats use the internet for.' He'll start rattling off things that are way too specific and definitely projection.

  • On my phone, I just access YouTube through the firefox browser app with ublock origin installed. Works perfectly.

  • No 'probably' about it. Can't speak to all of the titles being removed, but they dropped this trailer almost a year ago.

  • Vanguard recently started offering a savings account that currently has a 4.15% APY (their 'cash plus' account).

If OP wants to park the money in a savings account for easier access than a mutual fund, that's both a more reliable institution and a better rate.
