  • I have a Bluetooth dongle headset-mic. Probably for the same buffer reason, it constantly breaks audio when I have multiple audios in/outs running.

The only consistent fix is switching to another audio driver and playing a video on YouTube while I switch it back.

  • I'm pretty sure the design intent was to make your first level of defense learning mechanics and using the dodge roll. If you can do that consistently you can just pump damage and speed, which is what everyone wants to do anyway.

  • Yeah, leaving leaf coverage is great for all kinds of larvae. Leaving them alone also slows weeds from growing and as the leaves break down they fertilize the soil.

The modern problem is that there are not enough critters roaming around to naturally step on foliage to break them down.

  • You have to aggressively purge the current chat and give it more abstract references for context. With enough context it can rewrite some logic loops, maybe start a design pattern. You just have to aggressively check the changes.

  • Ideally the ongoing schism in the Republican party continues and they return to some semblance of civility.

On top of that, ideally the party splits into two and alternate voting schemes start gaining traction in red states. There are a few blue counties experimenting with them, but I've seen none on the red side. There is no chance ranked voting gets to the state level until both sides agree to it.

Democrats want to maintain the status quo for as long as possible to get through the election cycle. Once they get the next 4 years secured and know what the house/Senate looks, like they'll have their pick to proxy war in Israel or Ukraine. Or Korea. Or Taiwan. Maybe a wild card in the Horn of Africa.

  • I've been using ReportLabs to make pdfs in Python. It took some getting used to but I can put together just about anything I can imagine. I still get a little lost when I need to dig into the source code and how it generates pdfs from templates though.

  • Massive swell of people to make any progress to have something to campaign with for Putin's re-election. Ukraine has been generally running low on artillery and can't fully capitalize on countering large unit offenses. The Ukrainians have a lot of western equipment but are low on funds to supply them.

  • They did have something similar to a draft mode. It's been a while since I played but you would build a deck from a series of options, usually 3 cards or 3 synergized subsets of cards, and this would repeat 15(?) times. Then when the deck is built you queue against other constructed decks.

People would just reset a run if their drafted deck didn't come together.

  • Don't take it personally. Whenever I share pictures the first thing my friends and family comment on is how dirty my floor is or what I have on the counter. I have had to make a sterile area just to take pictures to share. I am sure it's the same for most other people. Ah sweet modernity!

  • The annual gift tax exclusion of $18,000 for 2024 is the amount of money that you can give as a gift to one person, in any given year, without having to pay any gift tax

If anyone is looking for the gift tax limit I got the above quote from https://smartasset.com/retirement/gift-tax-limits

This is more than I remember, but I think I'm confusing it with the $6000 limit for contributions to an IRA account. I think it went up to $7000 this year, but I digress.
