  • Thats not the point, it was her block.
She chose that block, maybe she liked the plants, the shape, the hill its on, the view, or had plans for a particular layout.

Like someone stealing your car then saying "oh you can get a more expensive one with the insurance payout" when really you just wanted the one you had.

  • I got one when i visited Vancouver at a place called Score on Davie, the 'toppings' were great but i wasnt ready for the clamato cocktail.

  • A Canadian Ceasar cocktail.

    Do i like clams? Yes.
    Tomato ? Yes.
    Fried pickles/onion rings/prawns/burger/etc? Yes.
    Vodka? Yes.
    All together? ...

  • No matter how much we would like to completely ignore the existence of the stock market & banker bros the fact is that these greedy fucks thirst for profits so keenly that the can completely fuck up economies and send ripples across the world that affects everyone.
For example the GFC (caused by banks/finance institutions taking risks causing a total collapse when the gambles didnt pay off) which we are still affected by today to an extent.
Their insatiable need to make just that extra %profit can affect whether some random family in another country can put food on the table.

So yeah i agree, anything to make life harder for the ones who take advantage of us.

  • Are you me? Every point you made mirrors my own Lemmy experience.

The only thing i would add is that i really miss the quality of some of the content, which i would just attribute to the difference between userbase size and by sheer numbers meaning more high quality content to rise up to the top. I would say on reddit that i would almost never get through the days 'top content' for me before i started losing interest in posts, whereas here i can run out within 15-30 mins and then im among duplicate posts, yesterday's posts or just things that dont interest me much. But i also put this down to the wider range of subreddits providing more variation and extra content, so perhaps i just have to spend more time finding more lemmy communities to draw from on other instances.

  • I know not in the same realm of game you mean but you made me think; I feel like Zelda BotW used magic as a tool. That little slate device thingy he has can move objects from a distance, manipulate gears/levers, freeze time, create bombs from thin air, freeze water and manipulate it, etc.

  • I second knitting, and its 100% something you can do while watching tv without needing to devote much concentration, its almost subconscious once your going.

  • You can kinda see a wooden step on the LHS between the support poles, and based on them all not sliding into the centre there must be some sort of seating welded inside (although hard to see if there are any weld heat marks in the quality of the photo). So there probably is a good spot to step either side of the lip if you hold the chains while entering/exiting.
Please note this is a complete armchair analysis

  • Advisor: "Sire, the peasants are revolting!"
Blackadder: "Yes they are disgusting arent they"

  • Agreed, my reaction will mainly be "oh no - creates account on another instance - well anyway..."

  • Yes ads revenue itself but also Data. Lots and lots of data to sell to advertisers to build profiles on what people are into and how they interact with following their hobbies and interests across subreddits.
But i agree that theres not too far to go after that.

  • I like that. Keep it short & simple.

  • My favourite 'thought trigger' point is from Bill Burr, it goes something like: "lets for a second say that the earth is flat, then what possible reason could there be for governments, scientists, airlines, internet warriors, etc have for convincing you that it is a sphere. What do they have to gain by you believing this?".

  • Yes that sure is an option, but it doesnt fit in my pastry-centric theories of the universe.

  • And Australia, with packaging that all looks the same too

  • Plenty of redditors are here, reddit did originally start with a good crowd. I myself moved during the great fuckery of 2023. However i believe that a lot of the low-effort redditors (or however you would describe them) you are reffing to would find lemmy just that extra step too difficult/inconvenient to get into and wont take it up.

  • Well standard election story mode is 100% completion but the extra 10% is finding all hidden hammer & sickle icons and Collectables in every level.
