  • No such thing currently exists within Lemmy. It isn't a big deal to make a new community and do whatever you want with it. Or if all you want is a single post you could make a wiki community and set it to moderators only posting and then curate posts yourself as requested.

There is currently no /c/wiki community so it is free for the taking.

  • Landlords are parasites of society providing nothing of value.

  • Thanks for joining us. Perhaps you will some day become a science fiction enthusiast. 🙂

  • That was my first thought. I'd need more proof before believing this. Perhaps it has happened at least once in one of the millions of schools, but as a general policy across the country? Highly unlikely.

They might value education more than the US and can be strict, but they aren't as draconian as the west seems to believe.

  • I'm sure some of them will show up in future votes. Maybe some day we will get to everything. 🙂

  • Right, you would probably want to pick the one you are most interested in reading, but it doesn't really matter if you pick your favorite that you have read and want others to read.

  • Eventually we are going to realize that not everyone is going to be able to have a big yard and a big house with 3 cars each. Something has to give and I think it is going to be zoning laws. So while people might be able to afford "housing" again at some point in the next 50 years it is going to be more like a shack than a house.

  • I concur with most everyone else on going to a vet. It's usually a sign of being in pain. Possibly from a urinary tract infection or the like. Hopefully resolved by something simple like antibiotics.

  • I am Warcraft 1 on Floppy disk years old.

  • I get those expensive 5 blade Gillette razors and they last me about 4-5 months each of shaving a few times a week with and against the grain of the face hair.

  • I've never really heard of this concept as I come skipped straight here from forums 15 years ago. People wrote posts about things they were interested in and people discussed it. Very rarely did someone simply post a link to another website with no comments of their own. It doesn't make a lot of sense to me.

  • I wish people wouldn't use Lemmy as a "link aggregator". Instead of posting links to other peoples content how about having an original thought for once. Why is Lemmy acting as the comments section for some other website?

  • Ads are unforgivable. I'd recommend setting notifications to off.

  • I'm also convinced these are really just paid for by Apple ads. I've never seen anyone care about such a thing.

  • Delete account and then add facebook to resolve to 127.0.0.1 in your hosts file. 😀

  • It can be both real and a stupid pun. 😀

  • I don't think I entirely agree with your point here and don't fully understand what you are trying to say as it seems like you went on a bit of a tangent at the end there.

As for people not actually being stupid I tend to agree. If you could objectively test the inner working of their brain you would likely find that it is working just fine. They still have the ability to process language, spatial awareness and all that good stuff that makes a person smarter than most other creatures on Earth.

But due to some cognitive dissonance there is some tidbit of information their minds absolutely can not reconcile that leads to seemingly weird conclusions to a person that doesn't share the fundamental understanding of that same information. All of humanity would probably run into this same problem if aliens suddenly appeared and explained the way things really are despite it being completely at odds with everything we know to be true.

  • You can chemically straighten your currently grown hair permanently. Once new hairs grow it will go back to normal.
