Why do most newer phones other than pixels have little to no support for custom ROMs ?

  • Sure but the fact that anyone there could do it means fundamentally there is a risk present and that’s a bad position for a privacy centered organization. The others there MAY not do it, but they COULD.

  • If the recent drama with the former lead dev of GrapheneOS is any indication, putting our trust in a singular entity in charge of custom ROMs is also risky.

  • What’s the difference between UBO and UBO RC1? I assume the one from the FF store is UBO and if so how do we get RC1? The difference seems significant.

    • In just a few decades we will probably be able to ask an AI for a movie or a game, and it will make one to our exact specifications.
